Popular streamer Dr Disrespect was banned fromTwitchin June 2020 and since then, he has been blackballed from the platform. Some streamers have been punished for featuring Dr Disrespect content, but this may have changed.

Zlaner took toTwitchon September 22, prior to a Twitch Rivals tournament that he was competing in with a $75,000 prize pool. During some pre-tournament warm-up rounds, Zlaner played several games with Dr Disrespect and TimtheTatman over the course of a couple of hours. Both Dr Disrespect and TimtheTatman are exclusive YouTube streamers, but the main issue is Dr Disrespect’s Twitch ban.

According to Twitch’s ban evasion rules, Twitch streamers can be banned themselves if they’re live with a banned streamer. During the recent Twitch stream, Zlaner stated that he thought the rules only applied to partnered streamers, to whichTimtheTatmansaid, “That’s good, ask for forgiveness, not approval.” Twitch is usually swift to punish people for circumventing its rules, but not in this case.

Zlaner fans may be familiar with a Twitch ban that he received back in July for streaming aCall of Duty: Warzonetournamentin a Dr Disrespect cosplay. It’s currently unclear what made this more of a ban-worthy offense compared to streaming on Twitch with the banned streamer. Twitch hasn’t stated whether this is due to a rule change or any changes to Dr Disrespect’s ban on the platform.

While he was still with Twitch, TimtheTatman stated that he couldn’t play games with Dr Disrespect and was quick to reunite with the two-time champion when he made the jump to YouTube from Twitch earlier this month. Although Twitch hit Dr Disrespect with a permanent ban, it seems like something has changed with Zlaner remaining unpunished today.

The Twitch guidelines specifically state that streamers are prohibited from knowingly featuring or advertising banned users like Dr Disrespect. Zlaner’s unfamiliarity with the platform’s rules may be what keeps him out of trouble for streaming on Twitch with Dr Disrespect, but his viewers were hailing him as a champion. While he may have been a champion amongst the Dr Disrespect fan base, Zlaner wasn’t able to come out as the champion of the recent Twitch Rivals tournament.

Zlaner typically streams toFacebook Gaming, but it’s not unlike him to stream to platforms such as Twitch either. The popular streamer is typically featured in Dr Disrespect’s streams when the two-time champion playsCall of Duty. Although Zlaner was competing in theCall of Duty: WarzoneTwitch Rivals tournament on September 22, Dr Disrespect didn’t join his squad like he normally does.

It’s still unclear what the cause of Dr Disrespect’s Twitch ban was, but the popular YouTube streamer has suggested that he’staking legal action against Twitch. Dr Disrespect has rebounded on YouTube in several ways and he continues to come up with new ideas such as making a game studio. The two-time champion continues to playCall of Duty: Warzone, but he recently criticized the game as being made for 11-year-olds.
