An unfortunateZelda: Tears of the Kingdomplayer stumbled upon a glitch that clipped them below the map when they used an Ancient Blade on an enemy. Normally, an Ancient Blade would make the enemy disappear, but the exact opposite happened to this poorThe Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdomplayer.

Ever since the launch ofTears of the Kingdom, there have been more glitches found in the game than any other in the Zelda series. Players have found glitches to one-shot enemies, shield surf through the air indefinitely, make unlimited rupees through selling glitched frozen meat, and everything in between. And then there’s the most notorious example, the duplication glitch, a bug that allowed players to duplicate any weapon or item in the game until the developersupdatedTears of the Kingdomto remove the fan-favorite exploit. Most bugs are used to aid the player, but this most recent clip shows that not every glitch in the game is a good one.

Reddit user DemonSlayerfan1352 discovered an unfortunate glitch when they ran across a Like Like, one of themost annoying enemies inZelda: Tears of the Kingdom, while exploring a cave. Rather than dealing with the Like Like with a traditional weapon, the player decided to throw an Ancient Blade at the monster to kill it in one shot. Instead, after hitting the Like Like with the Ancient Blade, Link is damaged himself and clips through the ground below the map.

The Ancient Blade is one of thebest materials to fuse to a weapon inTears of the Kingdom, as it gives the weapon it’s fused to +50 more damage. When attached to an arrow, an Ancient Blade will make the enemy it’s shot at disappear, similar to Ancient Arrows inThe Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Ancient Blades are a rare find inTears of the Kingdom, so rare that some players haven’t even seen one yet. Eventually, Ancient Blades can be purchased after completing the side quest “Ancient Blades Below,” which is worth doing for the damage potential alone.

In the comments for the video, one player came up with the best explanation for how thisTears of the Kingdomglitchoccurred. The commenter explained that Link’s collision box has some strange quirks to it when Link gets damaged. The stars lined up perfectly once Link was damaged, resulting in him clipping through the ground below the map.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdomis available on Nintendo Switch.
