WWE 2K23will need to pick up where it left off to give fans an enjoyable game that gets them excited every time they turn it on. While many of the other game modes did attribute greatly to the success ofWWE 2K22, Rey Mysterio’s showcase mode was a breath of fresh air for the franchise and has fans wondering which superstar will feature inWWE 2K23’sshowcase mode. From legendary figures like The Undertaker to fan favorites such as Randy Orton; 2K Sports and Visual Concepts have many avenues they can explore for the upcoming game.

The Undertaker
A superstar with one of the most illustrious careers in the WWE, The Undertaker deserves a showcase mode revolving around his WrestleMania streak. This would include some of the greatest matches in WrestleMania history including his fights against Shawn Michaels, and Triple H.The Undertaker also has an equally impressive career outside of WrestleMania, so his showcase could also feature some of the more popular matches, like all the Hell in a Cell fights he has been in. There is no doubt that fans would love the chance to play as the Deadman and see his interviews about his greatest matches, like how Rey Mysterio’s showcase was handled.
Triple H
One of the most decorated superstars in WWE, a future Hall-of-Famer, and a superstar that was both loved and hated in his prime,Triple H is arguably the greatest entertainer to enter the squared circle. A Triple H showcase could see his early rise to the formation of his popular groups, D-X and Evolution, and could even showcase the rise of his proteges, Randy Orton and Batista. The showcase can also focus on Triple H’s 14 title reigns, most of which had great storylines and rivalries that could be further explored in a showcase mode.
Randy Orton
Going from one of the most hated superstars on the roster to a fan favorite that is feared by most other wrestlers is never an easy thing to do, however, Randy Orton has shown that sometimes being the bad guy pays off. Starting as the Legend Killer in the super group Evolution to his transformation into the Viper, Randy Orton has shared the ring with some of the greatest superstars, including countless Hall-of-Famers. With some of the greatest storylines under his belt, including the villainous Legacy storyline and his feuds with the likes of Kofi Kingston and Edge,Randy Orton would be a great superstar to feature inWWE 2K23’sshowcase mode.
Shawn Michaels
The Heartbreak Kid, Shawn Michaels is one of the most beloved superstars in the WWE and arguably has more legendary matches than any other person in the industry. From hall-of-fame moments to intense rivalries, and the formation of one of the greatest teams ever,an HBK showcase would be a fantastic addition toWWE 2K23. His time at D-X, his rivalry with both The Undertaker and Triple H, and his legendary Royal Rumble and WrestleMania moments could all make their way to the game mode.
Brock Lesnar
While he may not be the most decorated or even loved superstar in the WWE, there is no doubt thatBrock Lesnar is one of the most dominating superstars in the industry. With a career filled with amazing moments, like breaking the ring in a fight against Big Show and his iconic win over The Undertaker that ended the WrestleMania streak, Lesnar has had a storied career that would fit the showcase mode perfectly. Exploring Lesnar’s early years in the WWE as the youngest WWE Champion would give fans tons of moments to relive, including an intense rivalry with Goldberg.
WWE 2K23has some big shoes to fill, and followingWWE 2K22’sshowcase mode, it needs to go bigger than ever before. Improving on something that was done so well is never easy, but the WWE is not short on great superstars to feature.WhetherWWE 2K23decides to explore the career of a storied veteran, or one of the more recent fan favorites, the showcase mode in the nextWWE 2Ktitle will need to be as exciting and fulfilling as Rey Mysterio’s showcase was.
