World of Warcraftjust revealed Fury Incarnate, the fifth content update it has planned for 2023. This newDragonflightpatch will introduce a new public event, customizations, quests, and more toWorld of Warcraft.
Only two days before this announcement,World of Warcraftreleased Patch 10.1.5, Fractures in Time. This content update added tons of new content, including theAugmentation specialization for the Evoker class introduced inDragonflight, the Dawn of the Infinite megadungeon, and new daily activities.

However,World of Warcraftis already getting readyfor its next content update. Titled Fury Incarnate, Patch 10.1.7 is the fifth of six planned patches for 2023, and the final one beforeDragonflightSeason 3 begins. The patch will add several new features to the game, including a Heroic difficulty version of Dawn of the Infinite, which will be split into two smaller dungeons in the process, and a refresh of the Brewfest and Hallow’s End events. The patch does not have a release date yet, but it hits the Public Test Realm today, and players can expect it to arrive in late August or early September.
One of the headlining events of the new patch is a new public activity called Dreamsurges. Similar to other events like theFyrakk Assaults from Embers of Neltharion, Dreamsurges involve Waking Dream portals appearing across the four original zones ofDragonflight. Players who partake in these challenges can encounter rare creatures and event bosses that drop powerful gear.
Fury Incarnate is a great patch for Night Elf and Forsaken players. Both of these races are getting Heritage Armor quests, each with multiple variations that can be earned through completing the accompanying questline. Additionally, Forsaken will be receiving five new skin color variations, and Night Elves are getting new face and body tattoo options.
Last but not least, Patch 10.1.7 will continue the story ofDragonflight. Players can expect a continuation of the Silver Purpose questline as they continue to try and reforge Tyr, the Titan Keeper responsible for empowering the Aspects, as well as a questline involving a prophecy from Velen and anew future for the Draenei people ofWorld of Warcraft.
Given the obvious clues from the Dreamsurges public event, plus hints that have been popping up all overDragonflight, Patch 10.2’s theme around Amirdrassil, thenew World Tree inWorld of Warcraft, is all but confirmed. Players can probably expect even more hints for this content update in Patch 10.1.7, and will likely get an official announcement not long after it drops.
