Blood Elf players are called to Silvermoon to aid the leaders of the Sin’dorei —Liadrin, Lor’themar, Rommath, and Aethas— in a battle against a vampiric San’layn who seeks to control the now-masterless Scourge who ravage the Ghostlands. To defeat him, players will need a special weapon, and must travel around the various realms of the Shadowlands to get it.

In addition to the questline, a new Blood Knight-themed armor set and hawkstrider mount weredatamined from theShadowlandsPTR, which are likely to be the rewards for the quest chain. So far, only the Dark Iron Dwarves have a similar questline in the Public Test Realm. Fans are hoping all the races, including those who haven’t had Heritage Questlines yet, will get quests and cosmetics of their own.

Blood Elf players are ecstatic to see Silvermoon get attention once again. TheWorld of Warcraftcharacters in the Sin’doreiruling council have not been in the spotlight for some time, so seeing them operate alongside players to protect their homeland is a treat for fans. In addition to the elven leadership, players were delighted to discover Salandria, Liadrin’s adopted daughter who first appeared in the Children’s Week quests duringBurning Crusade,is all grown up. She is now leading a regiment of Blood Knight trainees in the defense of Silvermoon, and plays a major role in the questline.

These quests are exactly the kinds of thingsWorld of Warcraftplayers want from the MMORPG moving forward. Between these Heritage Questlines andcross-faction play between the Alliance and Horde, Patch 9.2.5 is looking promising. With luck,World of Warcraftwill continue this positive trend with the next expansion it is announcing on April 19.
