According to the announcement on the Battle.net launcher, this maintenance period extends to all versions ofWorld of Warcraft, not justClassic, so players should be aware of the downtime and plan accordingly.

WoW Classic Season of Discovery Phase 4 Schedule

This maintenance period concludes about two days before Season of Discovery Phase 4 launches, meaning players should have no disruptions when the update goes live. Blizzard sometimes implements certain features during these maintenance periods ahead of the official release, such as when theDual Spec vendor briefly appeared inWorld of Warcraftahead of schedule, so fans may be able to start finding things from Season of Discovery a couple of days early.

Once Season of Discovery Phase 4 goes live, players will have a week to reach the level cap and unlock all their new Rune Engravings before Lord Kazzak and Azuregos, theiconic world bosses from VanillaWoW, become available as special instanced encounters. A week after that, both Molten Core and Onyxia’s Lair will open, with the former reworked into a 20-person instance, and the latter being adjusted to allow between 20 and 40 raiders.

Phase 4 is only the first endgame phase for Season of Discovery. Though it marks a major milestone for theClassicservers, fans can expect more Season of Discovery in the future, as they still need to be able toenter iconicWorld of Warcraftraidslike Blackwing Lair, Ahn’Qiraj, Naxxramas, and Zul’Gurub. Players can expect to hear more about these future phases within the next few months, as at least one more major Season of Discovery update is planned before the end of the year.
