Soon,World of Warcraft Classicplayers will relive the terrors of Icecrown Citadel, asWrath of the Lich King Classicwill be updated to include content from the Fall of the Lich King update initially released in late 2009. Patch 3.4.3 will arrive inWorld of Warcraft Classicon Tuesday, October 10, with the Icecrown Citadel raid launching two days later, on Thursday, October 12.
Along with the Fall of the Lich King update,World of Warcraft Classicwill addthe controversial yet useful Random Dungeon Finder feature. As a staple feature in modernWoW, the Random Dungeon Finder will allow players to queue in for normal and heroic difficulty dungeons as a role that their class and specialization can perform. Once groups have been filled, players will immediately be sent to the start of the instance. While some staunchWorld of Warcraft Classicplayers condemned the addition of the Random Dungeon Finder, otherWoWplayers pointed out that the feature was also added in Patch 3.3 in 2009, in tandem with the original release of the Icecrown Citadel raid.

On October 10,Wrath of the Lich King Classicwill launch Patch 3.4.3, with the iconic Icecrown Citadel raid launching two days later. The raid itself will feature 12 bosses, which will culminate in a final battle against Arthas himself. The patch will also bring a trio of dungeons set underneath Icecrown’s frozen halls, as Alliance and Horde players will team up with Jaina and Sylvanas respectively. They must first brave the Forge of Souls and then fight their way through the Pit of Saron to reach the Halls of Reflection and discover some chilling yet importanttruths about Frostmourne and the Lich King himself. These dungeons can be experienced via the Random Dungeon Finder and will rewardWoW Classicplayers with weapons and armor up to item level 232.
Players looking for a challenge will also have three new, Titan-themed dungeons called Defense Protocols Alpha, Beta, and Gamma that were not originally part ofWrath of the Lich King. In addition, the Collections interface will make its way fromDragonflighttoWoW Classic.Plus, warriors, paladins, and death knights will be able tocraft the Legendary axe called Shadowmourneby undergoing a series of rigorous quests and obtaining specific items from Icecrown Citadel to forge it.
As one ofthe most iconic raids in the MMORPG genre, Icecrown Citadel will testWorld of Warcraft Classicguilds and raid teams looking to challenge the Lich King. Only time will tell who will conquer the frozen citadel first.
