After waiting quite some time, fans ofDragon Ball Z: Kakarotfinally have some answers, albeit vague ones, about what the season pass will entail. Until today, theseason pass remained notoriously mysterious, but new information has been released which indicates that the DLC forKakarotmay not actually be what most expected. The manner in which CyberConnect2 intends to adapt the events of of the beginning ofDragon Ball Supermeans that fans of the menacing Golden Frieza may be disappointed when more information is officially released on March 21st.
For those who haven’t seen yet, Ken Xyro, a translator andDragon Ball Z: Kakarotfan who has provided reliable information in the past, recently shared information regardingDBZ: Kakarot’s Season Pass. The DLC will add Super Saiyan God Vegeta and Goku as playable characters, add an original episode allowing players to train with Whis to unlock the God form and eventually unlock a battle with Beerus, and add new skills for players to learn. Although all of this is somewhat confusing, official details will release on March 21st which should clear up any confusion regarding this most recent leak. Unfortunately, things aren’t looking too good for the golden emperor, Frieza.

DBZ: Kakarot DLC Details
Although many are grateful for some details regarding the DLC, it seems to have brought more questions than answers. Rather than doing a complete adaptation of the events ofDragon Ball ZmoviesBattle of GodsandResurrection F, the former is being added on as sort of an aside. The training with Whis and unlocking of the Super Saiyan God form is even stated to be achievable before the completion of the story, which furthers the idea that this DLC will not adapt either of the movies in a way fans expected.
For fans of Golden Frieza, this spells bad news. It was originally thought that the DLC story arcs would adapt bothDragon Ball Zmovies, taking fans past the fight with Beerus, through training with Whis, and into a final battle with Golden Frieza while the player makes use of theSuper Saiyan Blue form. This new information never mentions Super Saiyan Blue or Frieza in any capacity, and the battle with Beerus seems more like a grindable mission as was the case with Bonyu, the former member of the Ginyu Force. The odds of getting to the point where Frieza returns seem slim at best.

Golden Frieza in Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot DLC
If Golden Frieza does in fact make it into this DLC, odds are it will be as nothing more than a repeatable mission found either in the training room or through use of the time machine. This is a huge disappointment for some, as many even wondered if they would see aplayable Golden Frieza inDragon Ball Z: Kakarot, but it is worth noting that none of this is official as of yet. It seems that the training with Whis and the battle with Beerus constitute the season pass' two original story episodes, meaning there could still be a story arc unaccounted for.
Ultimately, all should become clear by the 21st of March, only a few days away. It seems the DLC is still slated for a release during or after Spring, but hopefully a concrete date will be provided on Saturday. In the meantime, fans of Frieza willsoon be able to use the time machineto return to the Frieza saga and battle him in his many forms. Hopefully with the addition of the time machine and the release of the upcoming DLC,Dragon Ball Z: Kakarotwill be revitalized with more things to do and explore.
