Watch Dogs Legionhas been available on Xbox One for close to a month, and the game has since been released on both Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S. It should probably be expected that most major issues withWatch Dogs Legionwould have been corrected by now. That appears to not be the case, however, as Ubisoft recently confirmed an existing bug that is keeping the game from properly saving for extended periods of time.
The officialWatch DogsTwitter account confirmed the bug in a reply recently, saying that theWatch Dogs Legiondevelopment teamis aware of an issue keeping the game from saving at times. The account that Ubisoft replied to said they lost around an hour of progress due to the bug. This isn’t an issue experienced by just oneWatch Dogs Legionplayer, however, as it’s a common topic of the game’s subreddit, with some users saying that they’ve been waiting for a fix since the Xbox One launch.

Those players may not be happy with Ubisoft’s full response, as it acknowledging that the issue exists and is being worked on, but it also said a fix isn’t going to be ready for a while yet. AWatch Dogs Legionpatchwill hopefully arrive in “early December,” according to Ubisoft’s Twitter reply. As such, a best-case scenario is that the patch will arrive in two-to-three weeks.
Watch Dogs Legionplayers have provided some advice for those who encounter the problem. The best solution is to, apparently, wait. SinceWatch Dogs Legiondoesn’t have a method ofmanually saving, all players can do is hope the game will eventually save like it should. For the most part, this strategy seems to work. There’s no telling how long players will have to wait, but it very well could be an hour or two.
The problem apparently only affects Xbox platforms, so PlayStation users onPS4 or PS5don’t have to worry about the issue. That detail is leading some to question whether Ubisoft has prioritized optimizing PlayStation platforms over Xbox. Having to wait over a month for a serious bug to be fixed certainly may not be the most encouraging sign for Xbox fans.
For the time being,Watch Dogs Legionplayerson Xbox platforms should do their best to ensure a save has been registered before quitting their game. If that’s too frustrating to deal with, the patch should arrive in early December.
