Owner Of The Farm

However, there is a completely different side to him. Ketil’s actions throughout the arc make him a major impediment to Thorfinn and Einar’s goals.
Current Status: After narrowly escaping with his life, Ketil turned a new leaf. He was no longer the arrogant man that he used to be.
11Sverkel
Ketil’s Father
Sverkel is an old man. He is the father of Ketil and the grandfather to Olmar and Thorgil. For a man of his age, Sverkel works extremely hard. He does not live with his son. Instead, he lives in a small house separately.
Sverkel keeps himself busy with farming and other chores, but he requires help from others. While Sverkel is not a tough, grizzled fighter, he offers Thorfinn plenty of invaluable advice.

The Main Protagonist Of The Story

Thors and his men were ambushed by Askeladd’s group, however, it did not take long for Thors to overwhelm them. Sadly, Askeladd was not ready to play fair, and he took Thorfinn hostage, which allowed his men to kill Thors. Askeladd sent Thorfinn on various dangerous missions, which made the latter very powerful, and by the end of the first season, Thorfinn had managed to injure Thorkell in a fight. Thorfinn will have a big role to play in the upcoming season as well.

8Thors
Father Of Thorfinn And Ylva
Thors is undoubtedly the strongest characterfrom the first season ofVinland Saga. He earned the name, “Troll of Jom” due to his tremendous physical strength. Thors' name was known by every warrior, and he quickly rose to fame. However, one day he had a change of heart. So, he faked his death and left for Iceland with his family.
The plan worked for several years before he was found by Floki, who forced Thors to join the Vikings, but it soon became clear that it was all a hoax by Floki, who wanted to get rid of him.
Current Status: Thors had no part to play in the second season of the anime.
7Askeladd
The Main Antagonist Of Season One
Askeladd was the highlight of the first season ofVinland Saga.He was responsible for the death of Thors, and then he used Thorfinn as a pawn to achieve his goals. Despite his malevolence, Askeladd was a great character, who managed to win over the fans.
The main reason behind his popularity is his personality. He has the perfect combination of wits and brains, and it was quite apparent that his biggest asset was his intelligence. He could get out of the toughest of situations by creating a strategy within minutes.
Current Status: Despite being dead, Askeladd made multiple cameos in the second season, mainly as the voice inside Thorfinn’s head. He played a solid role and helped fans understand Thorfinn’s inner struggle better.
6Thorkell
Arguably The Strongest Man Alive
Thorkell is an extraordinarily powerful character, whose only ever defeat came at the hands of Thors. Due to this reason, Thorkell respected him a lot. He is a giant of a man, and he has a constant yearning for combat.
If he goes too long without fighting, Thorkell becomes restless. Despite his appearance, Thorkell isn’t cruel, and he only goes after soldiers and trained fighters.
Current Status: Thorkell’s defeat to Askeladd and Thorfinn made him change his allegiance. He joined Canute’s cause, improving the prince’s overall standing. Thorkell made limited appearances in season two of the anime, but nothing too significant.
