ACall of Duty: Warzoneplayer takes an unlucky hit during a DMZ Exfil attempt, with the culprit being shocking. The free-to-play shooter is Activision’s entry into the battle royale market and has seen several updates since the latest iteration ofCall of Duty: Warzonewas released in 2020.
Players are settling into the latest season ofWarzone, with many continuing to enjoy the DMZ mode. This game mode sees players dropping into the map with the aim of looting as much gear as possible before exfiltrating back out before the time runs out. If players are taken out by their opponents, any equipment that has been collected is lost. This mode, along with variousanti-cheat updates toCall of Duty Warzone, is an attempt to keep players engaged with the huge franchise.

One player’s round of DMZ inCall of Duty: Warzonetook an unfortunate turn as they tried to escape the battlefield. In a video posted to the CODWarzone subreddit, a user by the handle AustinAir makes their way to the extraction site with minimal health and a timer close to zero. As the gamer takes to the sky, they are hit by another helicopter when it seemingly glitches through the one carrying the player. The video ends with the downed timer on screen, so it is unclear if the original poster successfully exited the level or if they lost the loot that was collected.
The comments to the original video are predominately tongue-in-cheek replies that revolve around the silliness of the situation and this memorable attempt to exfil out of the new Vondel map. The map was introduced as part of theSeason 4 update toCall of Duty: Warzone, which also saw the release of Resurgence and Lockdown LTM modes.
Unfortunately, not all fans are as happy with Activision’s decisions regarding the franchise. SomeWarzonefans are unhappy thatthe servers from the originalCall of Duty: Warzonewill be closinglater this year. The move maybe be a result ofWarzone 2player retention stats, as the game is currently lagging behind the original. Others are more bothered that bugs and unfair deaths, like what is seen in this clip, are still so common.
While there are grumblings about the business decisions surroundingWarzone, theCall of Dutycommunity is continuing to share impressive feats carried out in the game. OneCall of Dutyplayer has shown their impressive skills with the Tonfa, for example, proving there is still much fun to be had with Activision’s battle royale game.
