Call of Duty: Vanguardplayers have been looking forward to the start of Season 2 for quite a while now. The new season and its content were delayed in January as Activision dealt with ongoing issues with bothVanguardandWarzone. Activision is now ready to move forward, with Season 2 officially arriving Monday, February 14. ForCall of Duty: Vanguardplayers that don’t want to wait, however, there appears to be a workaround that allows early access to Season 2’s content.

WhileCall of Duty: Vanguardplayers won’t be able to compete inSeason 2 matchmakingor anything to that degree, the new content is available to experiment with via a simple option. All players have to do is start aCall of Duty: Vanguardprivate match, where they can play all the new content for themselves. That’s because Activision has already issued the patch for Season 2, but hasn’t enabled it. Private matches don’t have this restriction, however.

Season 2 content that can be accessed from private matches at the moment includes theBall Turret Gunner killstreak, the Casablanca and Gondola maps, the KG M40 AR and Whitley LMG, new perks, and a way to inspect the player’s held weapon for AR, pistols, and the katana. Suffice to say, that’s a good selection of content from Season 2, enough to make an impression.

There’s also a good number of new items and outfits that Activision is likely planning to release in Season 2 that have been added in-game. For example, a secondAttack on Titancosmetic bundlecan now be viewed in-game. For example, looking at Roland’s outfits will show an Armored Titan skin for him. The skins for this bundle are over the top, to say the least, and could hint at Activision releasing more ridiculous skins throughout Season 2.

Of course,Call of Duty: Vanguardplayers could just wait until tomorrow and get the full, official experience ofSeason 2’s release, too. Season 2 won’t be going anywhere for quite a while once it launches, so there’s no hurry to try the new content. It is there in private matches for those interested, though.

Despite much of the negative sentiment surroundingCall of Dutyover the past several months, there’s a lot of excitement for Season 2’s arrival on February 14. It just goes to show thatCall of Dutyplayerswant to enjoy the game, even when they aren’t. Activision just has to make sure it does that going forward without all the missteps, as easy as it is to just say that.

Call of Duty: Vanguardis available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
