It was a follow-up to the immensely popularCall of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, which also received critical acclaim upon its release. Both of these games have been remastered for modern platforms, although the multiplayer portion is absent fromModern Warfare 2’s re-release. With the latest entry in the series on the horizon, one fan shows what the upcomingModern Warfare 2sounds like with the audio effects from 2009’sMW2.

A YouTuber named Ghosts619 combines the gameplay from theModern Warfare 2beta and the sound effects from the 2009 game. The video begins with anAC-130 killstreakand shows off a bit of gameplay from the Domination mode. Ghosts619 then introduces the video, explaining that footsteps, killstreaks, gun sounds, music, and other ambient sounds have all been replaced by their counterpart from the originalModern Warfare 2. It took Ghosts619 four days to complete the video and he gives users a glimpse at the amount of work that went into making it.
He then asks users to share a tweet with a clip from the video, in the hopes that developer Infinity Ward notices it and considers addingMW2sounds as an option. This is followed by gameplay footage from a few matches on different maps from theModern Warfare 2beta, with a montage of sorts at the end of the various gun sounds. Ghosts619 also mentions that he uploaded a similar video last year in which he replacedModern Warfare2019 sounds with the ones fromModern Warfare 22009.
Fans in the comment appear impressed by the work and editing skills of Ghosts619. Some users state that they would love for Infinity Ward to addMW22009 sound effects to this year’s game as a toggle. Players also share their love forCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 2from 2009, with many mentioning that this video brought back several memories.
