The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrimhas been out for over a decade now, and fans are still finding themselves drawn to Bethesda’s massive open world game to this day. In fact, Bethesda just recently released a brand-new version ofThe Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrimcalled the Anniversary Edition, which bundles some fan-made content in with the base game and brings it to new consoles like the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.
Some fans may bereturning toSkyrimto check out the Anniversary Edition, and may have a desire to try unlocking all the achievements that the game has to offer.Skyrimhas a whopping 75 achievements for fans to unlock, and while many of them can be earned rather easily through normal progression, there are some achievements in the game that have proven to be incredibly elusive, with only a small percentage of fans ever earning them.

Xbox tracks the percentage of players that have unlocked achievements in various games,Skyrimincluded. Taking a look at these achievements, it becomes clear which ones have been the most difficult for fans to unlock, with five achievements in particular famously givingSkyrimplayers trouble over the years.
Master Architect - 1.68% Unlock Rate
The Master Architect achievement inSkyrimhas a 1.68% unlock rate and is worth a paltry 10 gamerscore. The achievement requiresSkyrimplayersto build three houses, but the description seems to have thrown some players off. Not only do players have to build three houses, but they have to fully complete each house, which means adding on all three wings and creating a proper entryway.
Fully building all three houses inSkyrimis a serious time investment. It first requires players to have progressed far enough to buy land in Dawnstar, Falkreath, and Morthal. Assuming they have enough gold to buy the land, players will then have to focus on collecting the sheer number of items that are necessary to not only build the houses but add each wing.Skyrimplayers will need to collect a lot of Clay, Iron Ingots, Quarried Stone, and Sawn Logs to build and fully complete each of the three homes.
AssumingSkyrimplayers are rich, completing this particular achievement will just be time-consuming and not so much difficult. However, those low on funds will likely find it to be difficult to fulfill the requirements for this achievement. Considering this, it’s best forSkyrimplayers to save the Master Architect achievement as one of the last achievements that they go for in the game, which is likely why it has one of the lowest unlock rates in the game.
Legend - 1.67% Unlock Rate
The Legend achievement inSkyrimworth 40 gamerscore, and it’s unlocked once players have defeated a legendary dragon. Since only 1.67% ofSkyrimplayers have unlocked this achievement, it seems that many fans of the game have found it to be incredibly difficult todefeat a legendary dragon.
The reason why the Legend achievement is so rare inSkyrimis because legendary dragons don’t even spawn in the game until players have reached level 78. Reaching level 78 inSkyrimwill take an extraordinary amount of time, and so it’s something reserved only for those who have already tackled pretty much every other challenge that the game has on offer. OnceSkyrimplayers have managed to hit level 78, the next thing they need to worry about is getting a legendary dragon to spawn in the game. There are various areas where legendary dragons are more likely to spawn, and soSkyrimplayers may find themselves bouncing around the map trying to find one.

Due to the somewhat luck-based nature of needing a legendary dragon to actually spawn into the game, it’s best forSkyrimplayers to leave this achievement as one of the last things that they do in the game. They can level up a lot by focusing on other objectives, and then worry about grinding to level 78 after they’ve already accomplished everything else in the game.
Oblivion Walker - 1.56% Unlock Rate
The 30 gamerscore Oblivion Walker achievement inSkyrimis one of the most notorious achievements in the entire game. It requires players tocollect 15 Daedric Artifactsin a single playthrough, which doesn’t sound too demanding in and of itself, but problems arise when players take into account various glitches that can completely lock them out of getting the achievement, potentially forcing them to start the game from the beginning to try again.
Skyrim’s Oblivion Walker achievement is known to be glitchy, with all kinds of problems that can happen to effectively make getting enough Daedric Artifacts impossible. Add to the fact that there are someDaedric queststhat can give players items that don’t count as real Daedric Artifacts, and it becomes clear why so many players have had an incredibly tough time unlocking the Oblivion Walker achievement in their game.
The best bet for anyone trying tounlock the Oblivion Walker achievement inSkyrimis to ensure it’s one of the first things that they attempt to do in the game. This minimizes the potential for quests to glitch and make getting some of the Daedric Artifacts impossible.Skyrimplayers will want to keep a guide handy to help them avoid running into any of the glitches that can lock them out of the achievement, and of course, it’s best to save as much as possible in case one needs to reload.
Vampire Mastered - 1.50% Unlock Rate
The Vampire Mastered achievement inSkyrimis unlocked when players acquire all 11 vampire perks in the game. The vampire perks are earned through a completely separate leveling system than the other skills players have to master inSkyrim, and so that is likely one reason why few people have unlocked this achievement.Becoming a vampire inSkyrimisn’t all that difficult, but it will take some time for players to unlock Vampire Mastered if they are doing it through normal gameplay.
Instead of trying to unlock Vampire Mastered through just becoming a vampire and playing the game normally, it is easier for players to make a separate save game. In this burner save, simply wreak havoc on all the towns ofSkyrimuntil there’s been enough kills to buy all the perks and the achievement will unlock. This is one of those rareSkyrimachievements where the difficulty to acquire it depends largely on how one is playing the game, but it can be easy if players know what to do.
Master Criminal - 1.50% Unlock Rate
Master Criminal, like Vampire Mastered, is aSkyrimachievement that players can earn relatively easily, but it requires them to play the game in a very specific manner, hence why most likely haven’t unlocked it. At the time of this writing, the Master Criminal achievement inSkyrimis the rarest achievement in the game, but it can actually be doubled up with Vampire Mastered if players want to take out two birds with one stone.
One method for getting Vampire Mastered has players going all overSkyrim’s open world, terrorizing each hold, killing everyone possible, and then acquiring the vampire perks along the way. While players are doing this, there’s no reason why they can’t also build up their bounty in each hold to 1,000 gold, which is how to unlock the Master Criminal achievement in the game.Skyrimplayers will need to amass a bounty of 1,000 gold in all nine holds for the achievement to pop, but it will happen eventually as they terrorize each hold. Like with Vampire Mastered, it’s best to do this on an extra save as opposed to one’s mainSkyrimsave.
