Although players have not had the chance toexplore every province ofThe Elder Scrolls' Tamrielyet, they should be more than familiar with the Empire. The Tamrielic Empire is its latest iteration, and the one that has been in power for the duration of the series. While there are other forms of authority in Tamriel, such as the jarls ofSkyrim, the Emperor is the highest power in the continent. While the Tamrielic Empire is not always at the core of the main story, its presence is almost impossible to miss. The Empire is as enduring as the Thieves' Guild or the Dark Brotherhood.
Following the storyline ofSkyrim, there’s a chance that players could seeThe Elder Scrolls 6change Tamriel drastically. By the end ofSkyrim, there’s a chance that the Empire could be in its worst state yet. The civil war between the Empire and the Stormcloaks could prove disastrous for them if the Stormcloaks were to win out. To make matters worse, the Dark Brotherhood storyline inSkyrimcan potentially lead to the assassination of the Emperor himself. Depending on the decisions that the Dragonborn makes, there is a real chance that the Tamrielic Empire could be leaderless and lacking power by the story’s end.
With so many issues facing the Tamrielic Empire afterSkyrim, Bethesda could make theambitious move inThe Elder Scrolls 6to end the Empire. Depending on what canon decides, the Empire could easily be in a bad place, and that could play intoTES 6’s story. It’s possible that it could play out during the dying days of the Empire, or it could already have collapsed by the time that the game takes place. A post-Empire Tamriel is something that fans haven’t had a chance to see yet, and it could be a strong story hook forThe Elder Scrolls 6.

Fans will likely seeDaedric Princes inThe Elder Scrolls 6thanks to their godlike status, but the Empire, while powerful, is not quite so immortal.
