Developed by Striking Distance Studios and Dead Space’s co-creator Glen Schofield,The Callisto Protocolis a survival horror game. It follows the protagonist Jacob Lee, a pilot who’s been unjustly imprisoned at the maximum security Black Iron Prison.
Lee’s arrival at Black Iron could not come at a stranger time. An outbreak of an unknown virus has sent the prison into a state of chaos. People are mutating into biophages — monstrous creatures which serve as one ofThe Callisto Protocol’smost common enemies.

Defeating the Final Boss in The Callisto Protocol
Background
Captain Ferris isThe Callisto Protocol’sfinal boss. A high-ranking official at the Black Iron Prison, players get their first glimpse of Ferris early on in-game; when Jacob Lee crash lands outside the prison. Although Captain Ferris is initially friendly, he becomes hostileafter he’s ordered to imprison Lee. This hostility only intensifies as the game unfolds.
Lee runs into Captain Ferris several more times throughoutThe Callisto Protocol. During their first post-outbreak encounter, Ferris still appears human. This changes during their first fight when Lee unleashes biophages to attempt to kill him. Lee initially assumes that he’s been successful. He’s proven wrong when Captain Ferris appears again, alive but infected. Although still sentient,Ferris is visibly more mutatedwith each subsequent encounter.

Phase One
In the first phase of the boss fight, Captain Ferris attacks players with combos of powerful punches. Try to focus on dodging. Wait for Ferris’ attack to slow or stop before striking back. Do this quickly - Ferris doesn’t need much time to recover between attacks. Use the baton to launch a melee combo attack. If there’s time, finish the combo with a gun. A cutscene will trigger once enough damage has been done.
Phase Two
The second phase ofThe Callisto Protocol’sboss fight deals with Ferris' alpha form, a hulking mutation that’s hardly recognizable as Captain Ferris. Ferris' attacksare now much more powerful. He has two: one melee, one projectile. A single melee hit will instantly kill the player.
Ferris' alpha form has a shield, and players need to destroy it before they defeat him. It takes several hits from the player’s Riot Gun to destroy it. Once the shield is destroyed, focus on attacking Ferris' head. After enough damage is dealt,he will stop to let out a roar.
Take cover by the pillars on the outside of the arena. More enemy biophages will spawn. Defeat them.and heal if needed. Once they’re ready, players should move towards Captain Ferris and attack. Continue to shoot at him and dodge his attacks. A cutscene will trigger once he’s been defeated.
The Callisto Protocolis available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
