Summary

FollowingThe Boysseason 3 finale, the show’s fictional monopoly, Vought International, kept fans posted on Homelander’s legal issues after he murdered a Starlight supporter in broad daylight. Vought’s X account revealed that Homelander has dodged legal problems, though it remains unclear whether that will stay the case.

Vought revealed thatHomelander had not been arrestedfor killing the man, claiming that he did nothing wrong because his actions were to protect his son above all else. However,The Boys' Twitter account added a response that may indicate Homelander’s not out of the woods.

Vought International revealed the “good” news about Homelander on theirX account. “Months later, and our greatest hero is still #HomeFree! No arrests have been made, because the only ‘crime’ Homelander committed was protecting his son. Thank you for your support HomeTeamers, and GOD BLESS AMERICA!“The BoysX account responded to Vought’s announcement with a still of Homelander with an exasperated look on his face with the caption, “Homie’s lawyer right about now.”

Of course, anyone paying the slightest bit of attention knows that Homelander’s so-called protection of his son Ryan was exaggerated. Homelander’s actions duringThe Boysseason 3 finalewere not out of protection. It was retribution for someone trying to harm his flesh and blood. All indications are that Ryan has inherited all of Homelander’s powers, so it’s not like he couldn’t handle himself against someone throwing an object that would have simply annoyed him more than anything else. Homelander loves his son in his twisted way, so if anyone hurts him, he’s signed his death warrant.

While one can argue he was protecting his own, it’s also possible that arresting Homelander won’t do a thing. He is essentially the most powerful being in this universe who is not only invincible to mankind but also has enough power to kill anyone who dares oppose him (outside of a covert CIA group hellbent on getting rid of supes). Trying to arrest Homelander is like an ant trying to stop a boot from stepping on it.

The question is, will this be mentioned inThe Boys? While Homelander’s possible legal troubles may not get attention, his actions will, as they will probably divide opinions on superheroes in this universe. Homelander finally stopped hiding his true self from the public. While Homelander supporters still stand with him, others may not be so keen on seeing a public figure abuse his power in the most gruesome way possible. While the legal issues are seemingly on the back burner, Homelander’s PR storm may only be beginning.
