Hades 2players start with the Witch’s Staff before they can craft four more weapons, including the Moonstone Axe, Argent Skull, Umbral Flames, and Sister Blades. There is a slot in the weapon zone for at least one more, so it would seem Supergiant Games has big plans for the future following the Early Access build.
After crafting these weapons, players can gain several new ones inHades 2,called Aspects. Aspects will not enhance weapons at their core but instead offer variants with alternative powers, allowing players to use weapons in completely new ways, so let’s go through some of the better ones for each weapon.
8Aspect Of Eos
Create Bigger Flames To Target More Foes
Aspect of Eosis an enhancement for the Umbral Flames weapon inHades 2. The normal attack for it will launch small balls of fire at enemies, but if players keep holding the attack button down, they will channel Magick energy into it, which will make the fireballs grow bigger.
The Eos enhancement will make the flames grow bigger after four seconds and, at their peak height, the damage will increase by 40%. It’s a great upgrade for the Umbral Flames, but it can be tricky to stand still for so long if enemies start attacking from behind.
7Aspect Of Artemis
Become The Ultimate Impervious Assassin
TheAspect of Artemisis an upgrade for the Sister Blades weapon. The basic enhancement will increase the speed of charged normal attacks, while the charged attack for the Sister Blades will send Melinoe speeding through enemies like an assassin from theAssassin’s Creedseries.
On top of the increased speed, Aspect of Artemis will give players a chance to parry and riposte attacks. InHades 2, a parry will block damage in the middle of an attack and a riposte will make players impervious to damage for a second and then give them a 50% chance to nail a critical hit with the charged attack.
6Aspect Of Circe
Enhance Melinoe’s Magick With Ease
TheAspect of Circeis a good one to enhance Melinoe’s starting weapon, the Witch’s Staff. This upgrade will give players a chance to find Serenity in the middle of battle, which players can achieve if their attacks land at least 21 times in a row.
Once Serenity is achieved, all charged moves will be 15% faster to start. Plus Magick energy will recharge automatically, making it the perfect combo to give thiswitch of the underworldmore magical power in battle.
5Aspect Of Medea
A Shorter-Range But A Bigger Blast
Aspect of Medeais a modifier for the explosive ranged weapon, Argent Skull. This enhancement shortens the range of the normal attack but makes its explosion form a wider blast radius. Normal and Special attacks also do more damage overall, with 20% at the starting limit.
If players have someBoons equipped inHades 2that will draw more enemies together, like Aphrodite’s Rapture Ring, then the Aspect of Medea is a good alternative to the normal build of the Argent Skull. Without that gravitational pull, though, the shorter range can be detrimental to some character builds.
4Aspect of Persephone
Taking The Skull And Running With It
Aspect of Persephoneis another upgrade for the Argent Skull that will boost damage for all charged attacks starting at 10%. The other great thing about this enhancement is that it takes advantage of one of the better aspects of the Argent Skull weapon overall.
The normal version of the Special attack will charge players forward, while the charged-up version will leave a greater wake of damage behind. Using the charged attack in the Aspect of Persephone build will generate Glory, which will add five seconds of damage and duration to the dash attack.
3Aspect Of Momus
Gain A Healing Bonus When Low
Aspect of Momusis another enhancement for the Witch’s Staff that will upgrade damage dealt with Special attacks, including the charged-up version. The charged version of it will create a huge line of damage that will last a few seconds before depleting.
This can be enhanced inthe gamewith Boons to make this damage last even longer, like by adding fire to the mix via the goddessHestia inHades 2. Aspect of Momus has another great buff as Special damage will heal players if they are at or below 50% health. In wild roguelikes akin to Hades 2, healing can make it break a run.
2Aspect Of Pain
Fan Out The Bladed Into Shotgun Mode
Aspect of Painis another great upgrade for the Sister Blades which will boost the charged Special’s potential. The charged Special for this will create a fan of blades that will shoot at enemies, and the Aspect adds one dagger to this mix which has the potential to hit even more enemies.
This can also be beneficial when paired with the Concentrated Flurry Boon, which is part of the Daedalus Hammer’s upgrade tree. This Boon will increase the damage the more times the daggers hit the same target, so players can manipulate their Sister Blades to act likea shotgun in a shooter.
1Aspect Of Charon
Casting A Wider Trap
Aspect of Charonis the final Aspect players should pay attention to, which will enhance the Moonstone Axe, the best weapon inHades 2so far. There is an interesting combo players can do with it and Melinoe’s Cast.
Cast attacks will not change between weapons as it will create a circle around players that will trap enemies. Boons can enhance their power, like one inHades 2from Demterthat will freeze enemies in place. With Aspect of Charon, the Cast will last longer and if players hit it with their Moonstone Axe, it will create a burst of enhanced area damage.
