Crafting is the cornerstone of sandbox games likeTerraria. The world is the player’s oyster, but to explore the vast world around them, theyneed to craft items for their journey. That’s where many of the game’s crafting stations come in.
From crafting gorgeous bespoke furniture to hand-welding a legendary sword to tackle bosses with, each ofTerraria’s crafting stations serves an individual and useful purpose to aid mighty adventures on their quest towards completion. Here areall ofTerraria’s crafting stations and how to get them.

Pre-Hardmode
Work Bench
The humble Work Bench is something allTerrariaplayers should be familiar with. The Work Bench should be one of the first things they make when landing in their randomly-generated world. They typically require ten of the desired material, which can be Wood or virtually anything else.
There are many different variations of the Work Bench, 34 to be exact. They all perform the same functions, whether a hand-crafted Work Bench or one found in the Dungeon. Work Benches are used to craft Furniture out of wood, as well as some early-game armor and weapons.

Furnace & Hellforge
In sandbox games likeTerrariaandMinecraft, Furnaces are necessary to kickstart that path of progression to crafting new weapons and armor. To make a Furnace, players will need 3 Torches, 4 of any Wood, and 20 Stone Blocks.
Furnaces are typically used to smelt metal bars from raw mined ore. They can also be used to create Brick and Glass as building materials. The Hellforge is the upgraded Furnace, found in the Underworld. It can perform the functions of a regular Furnace, with the bonus ability to craft Hellstone Bars.

Once players have spawned into their world, they will randomly be allocated either Iron or Lead ore. They are functionally identical and can be used to craft either the Iron or Lead Anvil, which need 6 of the required metal bars at a Work Bench.
Anvils are crucial to crafting most Pre-Hardmode items in the game, not limited to just armor or weaponry. They can also craft many furniture items, so players can deck out their base camp and keep their NPCs happy.

Alchemy Table & Imbuing Station
Alchemy Tables are a post-Skeletron crafting station and arefound randomly in the Dungeon. They can also be made by throwing a Bewitching Table intoliquid Shimmer to transmutate itinto an Alchemy Table. Alchemy Tables are used to craft potions, with a 33.33% chance of not consuming a particular ingredient. A Placed Bottle has similar crafting station functionality to the Alchemy Table.
Similarly, the Imbuing Station is used to craft Flasks, each of which endows the player with a buff that improves their melee attacks, with an additional debuff inflicted onto enemies. This crafting station can be purchased from the Witch Doctor NPC for 7 gold.

Sawmill
The Sawmill is a simple crafting station designed for more advanced Wood and Furniture crafting. To make a Sawmill, players will need 10 of any wood, 2 Iron/Lead Bars and a Chain, and they can then make it at a Work Bench.

The Sawmill is brilliant for any entrepreneurial wood crafters out there, as the Sawmill opens a world of opportunity in the realm of decorating. Players can craft Bamboo or even Crystal Furniture to upgrade their house from basic to chic.
Loom
The Loom is a non-essential crafting station, but great forTerrariaplayers wanting to improve their fashion game to includerare costumes like the Capricorn vanity outfit, among others. The Loom is often used to craft Silk and other vanity items that require Silk as their main ingredient.
The Loom requires 12 lots of any Wood and can be crafted at a Sawmill. It can also occasionally be found in Underground Cabins while exploring and spelunking.

Dye Vat
The Dye Vat is used to craft a wide and colorful array of Dyes and some Paints for players to decorate their home and their outfits. There is an extensive kaleidoscope of colors to choose from, including rainbow and even the mysterious Vortex Dye.
The Dye Vat can only be purchased from theone and only Dye Trader NPCfor 5 gold. He will move in once there are four NPCs in the world, and the player has collected a Dye component in their inventory.

Cooking Pot & Cauldron
Food is a vital part of any game, andTerrariais no different. Food consumables grant the player various durations of the Well Fed buff, which improves several of their stats, including defense, melee/mining speed, damage, and movement speed.
The Cauldron and the Cooking Pot are functionally identical, although the Cauldron is Halloween-themed. The former can be crafted, with 10 Iron/Lead bars and 2 wood at an Anvil. The latter can be purchased from the Witch Doctor during Halloween for 1 gold and 50 silver.

Heavy Work Bench
The Heavy Work Bench, despite its name, is not an upgraded version of the original. In fact, it mainly serves as a crafting station to build the majority of the statues in the game. There are 114 different statues in Terraria, some of which are functional and can be used to spawn enemies with the right tools. Others are purely decorative.
The Heavy Work Bench can be crafted at an Iron or Lead Anvil, provided the player has 12 Wood and 6 Iron/Lead Bars readily available.

Glass Kiln, Honey Dispenser, Ice Machine, Sky Mill, Solidifier, Bone Welder

Crimson & Demon Altar
The Crimson and Demon Altars are the only two crafting stations in the game that are not placed by the player. Instead, they are randomly generated upon the world’s creation, found in the respective Crimson and Corrupted biomes, typically in the Underground layer.
These Altars are essential to crafting Boss-summoning items, like the Slime Crown for the King Slime and Suspicious Looking Eye for the Eye of Cthululu bosses. Ancient Hallowed armor can also be constructed at these Altars, as well the best Pre-Hardmode sword, Night’s Edge.

Tinkerer’s Workshop
Perhaps the most vital crafting station inTerrariais the Tinkerer’s Workshop. It can combine multiple accessories into a singular item, like the iconic Terraspark Boots, so that the new creation maintains the abilities of the combined original items.
Unsurprisingly, the Tinkerer’s Workshop is purchasable from the Goblin Tinkerer for 10 gold. It is a worthy investment for any player wanting to reach the end game.
Hardmode
Mythril & Orichalcum Anvil
Like the Iron or Lead Anvil, once players havedefeated the Wall of Fleshand transitioned their world into Hardmode, new types of ore will begin to spawn. Players will randomly be assigned either Mythril or Orichalcum. Both ores are functionally the same and can be used to craft their respective anvils.
The primary use of these Anvils is to craftmost of the weapons and armor available in Hardmode, including swords that look eerily similar to the iconic Star Wars Lightsabers. Mythril Anvils require 10 Mythril Bars, while Orichalcum Anvils require 12 Orichalcum Bars at an Iron/Lead Anvil.
Titanium & Adamantine Forge
Hardmode allows access to a plethora of new ores and therefore, cooler armor and weaponry. The Adamantite and Titanium Forges allow for the same functions as the Forge and Hellforge, while being able to smelt Hardmode ore, like Chlorophyte, Titanium and Adamantite, into bars.
These two Hardmode Forges require 30 of their respective ore (Adamantite or Titanium) and a Hellforge in their inventory to be crafted at a Mythril/Orichalcum Anvil.
Blend-O-Matic & Meat Grinder
The Meat Grinder is necessary to craft Flesh and Lesion blocks, to be used with either the Decay Chamber or the Flesh Cloning Vat. These make either Corruption or Crimson-themed furniture items. It has a rare 0.5% drop chance from enemiesin either a Corruption or Crimson environment.

The Blend-O-Matic can be purchased from the Steampunker for 10 gold. It is essential if players want to build efficient boss fight arenas, as it is solely used to craft Asphalt Blocks. These allow players to run faster when walking across them, allowing them to dodge attacks with ease.
Steampunk Boiler, Lihzahrd Furnace, Decay Chamber, Flesh Cloning Vat
Furniture in Terraria has no physical purpose aside from decoration and making a living space more unique and aesthetically pleasing. There are four Hardmode crafting stations (Steampunk Boiler, Lizahrd Furnace, Decay Chamber and the Flesh Cloning Vat), that can all craft their respective biomes' furniture.
Autohammer
The Autohammer is a handy post-Plantera crafting station solely used for crafting recipes involving Shroomite, the Metal bar made from Chlorophyte and Glowing Mushrooms. The standing animation for the Autohammer shows how this is its primary use.
As well as Shroomite Bars themselves, the Autohammer makes powerful explosive ammo for any ranged fanatics out there, including the Mini Nuke I and II. It can be purchased from the Truffle NPC for 1 platinum.
Crystal Ball
Peeking at a Crystal Ball is always fun, but the Crystal Ball inTerrariais extra special. When interacted with, it grants the player the Clairvoyance buff that lasts until death, granting them +20 maximum mana, +5 magic damage, -2% mana drainage, and a bonus 2% critical chance from magic.
That isn’t all the Crystal Ball can do. It is a crafting station used for several mystical recipes, including the Endless Quiver and the Endless Musket Pouch, to give players a limitless supply of ammo without being depleted.
Ancient Manipulator
Saving the best until last, the Ancient Manipulator is the epitome of the end-game content inTerraria. It allows players to craft end-game content from materials derived from late-game stages, like the Lunar Events andthe Moon Lord boss fight.
Many of its recipes require Luminite Bars, which can only be obtained by the final boss, the Moon Lord. The Ancient Manipulator is always rewarded as a drop from the precursor boss fight/trigger to the Lunar Events, the Lunatic Cultist.
Terrariais available to play on PC, PS3, PS4, PS5, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo Switch, iOS, and Android devices.
