Even though players can switch between characters inTales of Symphonia,the protagonist Lloyd will likely be the go-to character for most. His Tech attacks can be a game-changer in the heat of battle.
Most of his Level One base Techs will unlock either through leveling up or using specific his Techs repeatedly and grinding them out until a more advanced version opens. For example, Lloyd’s first elemental attack, the Lightning Thrust, will unlock after he’s used the Sonic Thrust 200 times in a battle. Level Three Special Arcane Tech/Artes
The Arcane Techs are Lloyd’s most effective attacks but use the most TP in battle. Except for Falcon Rising and the hidden Tech Falcon Crest, all of the Level Three all Techs can be attained by using Level Two special attacks. However, one of the best that Lloyd will obtain is a defensive Tech called Guardian.

The majority of Techs that Lloyd will unlock naturally through gameplay. Some require specific actions, and most players must choose between certain attacks. The unfortunate downside of overusing Tech attacks inTales of Symphoniawill result in the party earning fewerGrade Points. It is better to play the game and not worry too much about attaining Grade Points for the New Game Plus.
