Summary

If the numerous bugs discovered since launch weren’t enough,Starfieldfans have come across yet another issue, this time related to ship modifications. Notably, the problem pertains to a feature thatStarfieldfans have been demanding changes to for quite a while now, but it seems like the latest update has further exacerbated it instead.

Starfieldoffers comprehensive ship modification mechanics to its players, and while it was critically acclaimed by the community at large, it does come with its fair share of flaws. One of the most annoying aspects that players have to deal with is how the game deals with items lying around the ship. If players want tomodify their ships inStarfield, all of the items get placed in the cargo hold. Over the past few months, many have voiced their concerns over the issue, with some even suggesting that they would stop decorating their ships or modifying them to ensure that they don’t have to place all the items back from their cargo hold. Now, it seems like things have gotten even worse.

Starfield’s Latest Update Makes Modifying Ships A Nightmare

A post on theStarfieldsubreddit highlights how a player initially thought that Bethesda had finally revamped the mechanicas part ofStarfield’s major February update, and things stay in place after modifications are made to a ship. However, it seems like that is far from the case, as things are now getting duplicated instead of being sent to the cargo hold. The Redditor goes on to underscore how much more frustrating it is to clean up the entire ship of duplicate items.

Thankfully, it seems like the community has come up with a makeshift solution to solve this bug. Apparently, waiting for long enough inStarfieldcleans up the ship, but there is a catch. To pull this off, players will need to first head to a planet or moon where the day is long. Both Kurtz and Venus seem to be good locations for this. After reaching there, players need to sleep five times, although some have suggested that it can be done in 13 hours if they are on Venus. Once players have slept for long enough outside the ship, the items should get cleaned up.

While this workaround does solve the problem, fans are still disappointed that one of the most pivotal aspects of the game hasn’t been fixed to date. Despite the developer’s incessant efforts to patch the bugs, the community’s growing dissatisfaction with the game is quite evident fromStarfield’s deteriorating reviews on Steam. With Bethesda planning to release updates for the game every six weeks, it remains to be seen whether the developers can turn things around for their flagship title.
