Summary
AStarfieldplayer was abandoned by their crew shortly after disembarking their spaceship. The space RPG was a hit with critics on its release, citing the large galaxy that gamers can explore in their own way. Bethesda’s first new IP in 25 years gives players a level ofexploration that’s on a par withSkyrim.
While the game was well-praised,Starfieldhas seen its fair share of glitchessince it was released in September. Although it remains one of Bethesda’s more stable games out of the gate, players quickly encountered issues ranging from merely laughable to progress blocking. One gamer has found a glitch that runs the lines of both of these categories.

The Reddit user joldsworth04 has posted a video to theStarfieldsubreddit showing their custom ship blasting off into space shortly after the player disembarks onto the planet. As the spacecraft returns to orbit, Vasco,Starfield’s loyal robot companion can be seen jumping from the vehicle mid-takeoff, none of which is supposed to happen. Joldsworth04 has taken this glitch with a pinch of salt, jokingly suggesting that the crew has staged a coup owing to the player’s captaining skills.
Replies to the video mainly poke fun at the original poster’s predicament, suggesting the crew is just heading off toStarfield’s Paradiso resort for some relaxation. Other players suggest that the ship taking off could be aglitch that occurs when gamers commandeer a stolen ship inStarfield. From previous reports from gamers, it would seem that a ship is more likely to disappear if the stolen ship has been modded.
As with any open-world RPG, glitches and bugs of any size can often be overlooked by the developers. Bethesda’s space epic is no exception to this and has seen some strange quirks in the short time it has been on the market. One such glitch has evenleft theStarfieldcompanion Andreja headless. This was apparently due to a player equipping a chameleon pack to the popular ally, and would not resolve itself despite swapping out packs.
With thousands of locations to explore, it seems almost inevitable that there will be some issues found within Bethesda’s space RPG. Despite glitches of headless companions and ship mutinies,Starfieldis popular with the publicand one of Microsoft’s biggest releases of the year so far. With such a large playground for players to explore, it will be interesting to see what strange quirks players will find in the future.
