Summary

Stardew Valleycreator Eric Barone has released patch 1.6.3 for PC that implements a variety of improvements and bug fixes for the popular indie game. Some of the issues fixed in this update were introduced withStardew Valley’s major patch earlier in March.

After plenty of anticipation,Stardew Valley’s 1.6 updatereleased on March 19 and added lots of new content to the game. This included new crops, menus, multiplayer improvements, a fresh farm layout, and much more. Following the update,Stardew Valley’s Steam player count skyrocketed and peaked at over 235,000 users on March 24, and the game is still maintaining a huge player base. However, the impressive patch came with some issues as well, some of which have been promptly fixed with the newest update.

Stardew Valley’s 1.6.3 update fixes the “creepy bear” glitch introduced in 1.6, along with other bug fixes. Its quality-of-life improvements include allowing the user to access Clint’s shop and geode service while a tool is being upgraded, moss now granting 1 foraging XP every time a user harvests it, the Infinite Power achievement being a bit more accessible, and a mine cart shortcut to the year 1 Spirit’s Eve festival. Additionally, the JunimoKart Qi Quest now rewards 20 Qi gems instead of 10, and to complete the Four Precious Stones Qi Quest users now have to collect four prismatic shards instead of just donating them.

1.6.3 implements a total of 29 bug fixes and improvements, and it’s safe to assume that Barone will continue working on his enduring game for a bit longer. On his Twitter account, Barone said on March 23 that he wants to see “Stardew1.6 settled, bug-free, and out to all platforms” before he returns toworking onHaunted Chocolatier, his next game. Seeing that 1.6 is without a release date for consoles and there are still some minor bugs in the PC version, Barone likely still has some work to complete inStardew Valley.

Following the major success ofStardew Valley, many havehigh hopes forHaunted Chocolatier. The confectionery store simulator in which the user collects ingredients to make chocolates while interacting with town locals and ghosts sounds like a charming follow-up toStardew Valleyand has generated plenty of excitement since its 2021 announcement.

After the release of 1.6, fans found thatStardew Valleynow has a secret scenethat’s triggered when trying to exploit a glitch that previously allowed users to reach the Summit much earlier than intended. Now, Mister Qi confronts the user and seemingly beats them into a near-death state offscreen, but the user is not punished further and is transported to Harvey’s office.
