The Clone Wars is an era that still has so much potential to be explored in expandedStar Warsmedia. While fans have gotten to see glimpses of the conflict over the course of a few different animated shows, the bulk of the fighting has been largely left unexplored, with most Clone Wars media focusing on the Jedi and their role in the conflict, or specific sets of Clone troopers. TheClone Wars still has a lot to offer theStar Warsuniverse, and it seems as thoughStar Wars Jedi: Survivormay be about to dive even further into it than ever before.
ThoughStar Wars Jedi: Survivor’s storyis still being kept under wraps, Respawn has released a few trailers for the game, with the latest batch showcasing the planet Koboh where Cal Kestis has crash-landed. Koboh is filled with all the environmental puzzles, platforming areas, and combat arenas fans have come to expect from the series, but it also boasts some new, Clone Wars-era enemies.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Could Have Strong Connections to The Clone Wars
During IGN’s recent coverage ofStar Wars Jedi: Survivor, fans got their first look at Koboh, one of the first planets in the game, and the home to a ton of different Clone Wars references. During the gameplay trailer, fans can spot a Lucrehulk Separatist ship that towers above Cal, which is presumably the source of the planet’s main enemy type: droids. During the course of the trailer, Cal faces off against a number of droid enemies, from classic B-1 Battle Droids to the tougher B-2 Super Battle Droids and the deceptive B-X Commando Battle Droids. Fans can even spot a few Magna Guards in the trailer, equipped with their iconic electrostaffs.
ButStar Wars Jedi: Survivor’s ties to the Clone Wars don’t just stop there. It was also recently revealed that the bounty hunter boss players will face off against on Koboh is a Gen’dai. This species was first seen back during Genndy Tartakovsky’s 2003Star Wars: Clone Warsanimated show, wherea bounty hunter named Durgegives Obi-Wan Kenobi and his Clone battalion some tough resistance. Being made up of thousands of interlocking tentacles that can regenerate, the Gen’dai are practically invincible, and Cal certainly has his work cut out for him.
While these environmental, enemy, and boss references to the Clone Wars are all great to see, these should just be the first set of things tying together the Clone Wars andStar Wars Jedi: Survivor.Cal Kestis' Force Echo abilitywas used quite well in the first game, letting players find out more about the worlds they were on and the factions they were interacting with in a fairly natural way. However, it could be used to even greater effect in the sequel. It would make sense for Koboh to be packed with Clone Wars-related Force Echoes, some of which could really dive into some hidden elements of the era’s lore.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivormay even go one step further and actually have some of its core plot revolve around the Clone Wars. Right now, it’s still a complete mystery who thatfigure in the Bacta Tank was during that firstJedi: Survivortrailer, and it’s fairly likely that they could be related to the Clone Wars in some way. Some fans have even theorized that he could even be a clone of the Emperor himself. Regardless of who he ends up being, it does seem likely that at least some ofStar Wars Jedi: Survivor’s plot will hearken back to the Clone Wars era, and there’s more than enough there to explore.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivorreleases April 28 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
