Death Weapon Meisters populate the world ofSoul Eater, and it’s their job to fight various supernatural threats across the realm. At a young age, Meisters have to train in schools specially curated to teach them how to wield Death Weapons. And it’s their resonance and connection to these humanoid weapons that allow Meisters to tap into their hidden supernatural powers.

In the series, protagonist Mika Albarn and her partner Soul Eater, a scythe, train alongside her peers and rivals in Death Weapon Meister Academy. However, as her adventures would show, more Meisters have far deadlier Death Weapon partners.
Updated on June 26, 2025, by Rhenn Taguiam:With the 2022 finale of Fire Force ending with a surprising link to Soul Eater, it’s become such an oddity for readers to see the fire-engulfed world of Tokyo Empire be connected to Death and his Death Weapon Meister Academy. And with each Demon Weapon having not just unique forms but also unique personalities, it’s curious to see the likes of a chainsaw, a lightning spear, a greatsword, and even a rainbow axe as some of the deadliest weapons in the series. Not only that, but some of these Demon Weapons aren’t necessarily working for the forces of good as well.
15Giriko
Primarily serving as an enchanter among Arachne Gorgon’s Arachnophobia group,Girikois actuallya Demon Weaponthat deserves a spot as one of Arachne’s top lieutenants. Such is his infamy that Giriko joins Noah and his Gang in a bid to capture the power of the Great Ones. His presence alone provides a lot of insight into his power - he possesses the Murderous Wavelength that allows him to transform negative energy into powerful attacks.
And with his Full-Weapon Transformation, Giriko can transform into a large chainsaw or buzzsaw to unleash powerful attacks. Not only that, but Giriko is so powerful that he can conjure a Golem to act as his Meister, not requiring a living being to become the user of his transformation. Outside his saw form, Giriko can actually conjure chains all around his body to aid him in combat - creating a rotating chainsaw armor, boosting his speed with chains, and even using a chain’s skidding potential for offense.
14Clay Sizemore
The Demon Weapon associated with Akane Hoshi,Clay Sizemore,and his Meister are members of the clandestine DWMA Central Intelligence Agency, in charge of investigating mysterious occurrences that are considered top-secret even to the likes of Death’s most trusted. This immediately puts Clay in elite status, with his training endowing him with amazing observational and analytical skills - albeit not to the extent of his Meister.
As a Weapon, Clay takes the form of a Demon Great Sword. Despite its regular appearance, Clay is extremely sharp - taking only the subtlest of touches to pierce through flesh. Although heisn’t shown in a lot of battlesyet, the praise involving his coordination with the analytical Akane already implies a certain degree of deadliness when they work together.
13Harvar D. Eclair
Despite his rather chill appearance,Harvar D. Eclairis actually one of the top studentsof the Death Weapon Meister Academy, even earning a spot in the elite Spartoi after the fall of the Arachnophobia organization. Studious and trained to a fault, Harvar D. Eclair isn’t just proficient in the art of self-defense but is also one of the rare individuals in the series to have a natural resistance against Madness - which he owes to his hard-headed personality.
As a weapon, Harvar transforms into a Lightning Spear - something that is almost literal to a fault. His Weapon appearance is that of a golden spear with a lightning-shaped tip, allowing his user to utilize the power of lightning and incorporate it into attacks. In his humanoid form, Harvar can conjure lightning at will, being able to incapacitate others with ease.
12Masamune Nakatsukasa
The older brother of Tsubaki,Masamune Nakatsukasais perhaps one of the best examples of a caring sibling. And while he didn’t inherit the same multi-weapon capabilities as that of his sister, this special trait of his sister slowly transformed Masamune into a rather jealous and insecure individual, prompting him not just to follow the Path of the Uncanny Sword, but even become strong enough to be a candidate to become a kishin - a monsterof incredible power.
His jealousy towards his sister did transform Masamune into one of the deadliest Demon Weapons out there. His natural form is that of a Katana which, with the Uncanny Sword techniques, now possesses powers such as possession and shadow manipulation. Its ability to exploit the fear of others and eat their souls makes Masamune quite a deadly weapon to fight - especially in his full power.
11Dengu Dinga
One of the famed Death Scythesor personal weapons of Death himself,Dengu Dingais the Demon Weapon in charge of the safety of Africa. And while there’s not much shown about Dengu Dinga and his personality, his stature alone is enough to command respect from his comrades. He cares enough about his comrades to immediately put himself in harm’s way - which can sometimes be alright, considering the sheer extent of his abilities.

As a Death Scythe, Dengu Dinga transforms into a Rainbow Axe intended to be wielded with one hand. However, the unique nature of his transformation has the blade divided into distinct sections, alongside the lack of a cutting edge. Regardless, there’s a mysterious quality of Dengu Dinga’s transformation that allows his form to become a magical implement. There’s not much known about the extent of Dengu Dinga’s abilities - but considering how magic is a rare quality in the series, being able to channel magical energies is easily a dangerous trait to have.
10Tsubaki Nakatsukasa
Albeit not a Death Scythe, Tsubaki Nakatsukasa’s nature as a Demon Weapon is not to be trifled with. In her humanoid form, Tsubaki already boasts remarkable intellect as well as enhanced speed and reflexes. Due to her training, Tsubaki works well with Black Star to dish out martial arts combos.
Unlike other weapons, Tsubaki has access to a unique Multi-Form feature - enabling her to transform into various weapons depending on Black Star’s needs. As a result, Tsubaki can become a Ninja Sword and Chain Scythe or even unique forms such as Smoke Bomb and as doppelgangers of people! However, her most potent form lies in her Uncanny Sword form - a lethal long sword that enables Tsubaki to control shadows.
9Ragnarok
Albeit not among Death’s prestigious Death Scythes, Ragnarok has a unique nature that makes him quite the powerful Demon Weapon. Naturally a Demon Weapon at birth, the Witch Medusa “melted” Ragnarok’s weapon form with Madness-imbued Black Blood and mixed it into Crona’s blood. As a result, Ragnarok has become a natural part of his meister - instead ofbeing a separate entity.
In his natural weapon form, Ragnarok is a black broadsword that can easily tear through human flesh. However, his Black Blood modifications make Ragnarok extremely dangerous. Given his nature, Ragnarok can manifest Black Blood and harden it to form weapons and defensive systems from Crona. Likewise, Ragnarok can use Black Blood to manifest a Red Black Dragon form for flight and combat purposes.
8Jinn Galland
Anyone can barely make out Jinn Galland’s physical features due to his heavily-clothed appearance. Regardless, this Death Scythe in charge of West Asia is no pushover. In fact, his key component is his weapon transformation, that being a Genie Lamp. True to its mystical nature, the Genie Lamp form can manifest a variety of humanoid entities, doing battle for Jinn and his meister in whatever way they wish.
Its basic form is the Djinn form, a humanoid that can burn anything it touches. Meanwhile, its Lovers form is a robotic entity that can fire a powerful charged shot. Lastly, its Tower form takes the form of a bricked humanoid thatexcels in hand-to-hand combat.
7Tezca Tlipoca
Tezca Tlipoca remains notable for his suit and iconic animal mask. However, his mysterious appearance also reflects his rather mysterious nature. As a Death Weapon, Tezca boasts natural athleticism, and primate communication, and even assumes a ghostly form. In his humanoid form, Tezca is known as a master of stealth - being undetectable except to those who can pick up his soul wavelength because they know of his existence.

His key feature is his Demon Weapon form, that of the Demon Mirror. As a weapon, Tezca becomes attached to his meister’s knee. The Demon Mirror can reflect the guilt of its targets, and “reflect” their souls for tracking purposes. Moreover, the Mirror can cast realistic reflections of its targets. And lastly, fighting in daylight allows Tezca to gather sunlight and fire it in the form of devastating Solar Rays.
6Azusa Yumi
Despite her rather bossy attitude, Azusa Yumi remains an ever-reliable asset among the DWMA. Her intelligence gathering skills alone are topnotch, being able to track people, objectives, and even secret bases of malevolent organizations around the world. In fact, her Thousand-Mile Eyes allows her to move extremely fast - to the point of drawing diagrams of a facility within seconds of looking at them.
Being a Death Scythe, her wavelength control is almost akin to magic - and this is something she extends to her skills. In her Bowgun form, she can shoot up to six miles away with just an inch margin of error. At her farthest, Azusa was able to hit Asura on the Moon while she was on Earth.
