ASkyrimplayer has made a strange discovery of their adopted child doing something very creepy in the middle of the night. TheNPCs inSkyrimhave a knack for acting weird, and it seems there is no end to what they’ll do next.
Theability to adopt children was first added toSkyrimwith the Hearthfire expansion, and it was a much-appreciated feature that gamers had been requesting for a while. It added a touch of realism to the fantasy game. The addition certainly makes a lot of sense - RPGs likeSkyrimare all about player choice, and the decision to adopt a child is one of the biggest choices of all. Some gamers felt that the child adoption feature was slightly undercooked upon its release, but there are plenty of mods out there that expand upon it to fully reveal its potential.

Redditor clee556 caught their adopted child in the act of watching his sibling sleep for over half an hour. Other users in the thread pointed out that there is something of a bizarre train going on here. The player has himself been watching their adopted son watch his sister sleep for at least half an hour too. If this player had one ofSkyrim’s followersby their side, this could manage to go even deeper. Others even suggested that their son has the Daedra in him and that they should get him to a temple immediately.
It’s unclear exactly what caused this strange event to occur. In all likelihood, it’s just another ofSkyrim’s many glitches. Over the years, there have been thousands of bugs found in the game, even if some are stranger than others. Onestrange glitch even put all ofSkyrimunderwater. With the game remaining extremely popular, it’s likely that gamers are still yet to find every bug inSkyrim, and more will be found in the years to come.
Gamers will have to wait and see if the ability to adopt children returns inThe Elder Scrolls 6. It would be a great opportunity for Bethesda to have another attempt at the feature.Hearthfirewas released forSkyrimalmost eleven years ago now, so it’s been a long time since players have seen something like this in a Bethesda game. Right now, very little is known about the sequel, and it seems that gamers will first have to wait for the release ofStarfieldbefore Bethesda continues to work onThe Elder Scrolls 6. After its unveiling five years ago, gamers have certainly waited long enough.
