Most caves, dungeons, forts, and locations can be revisited inSkyrimin a meaningful way. Part of the open-world experience is going where the player wants to go. and this works out wonderfully most of the time. However, players only get one chance to get Helgen Keep right because it’s about to be burned down.

Helgen Keep Walkthrough
The following steps should help players get through Helgen Keep with the best treasures possible.
Following Hadvar Or Ralof
The first time players have anything to do besides following checkpoints is when it comes tochoosing to follow Hadvar, an Imperial loyalist, or Ralof, a Skyrim rebel. The rest of the walkthrough is the same, but this choice will alter the Dragonborn’s perception for the rest of the game.

This boils down to whether players want their character to support the Empire or Skyrim’s independence. Each has strengths and flaws. It’s possible to change this choice but NPCs will always remember which choice was originally made.
Fighting Unarmed And Unarmored?
The game will guide players to loot bodies and use their armor and weapons. However, leveling up makes all opponents much more difficult. Therefore, it is critical that players use only the skills that benefit their build.Mods can turn the game into Dark Souls, but the game feels about that tough when leveling up everything besides the core skills.
Casters should use only magic, archers should use only bows, and warriors should choose between one or two-handed weapons. Do not equip light or heavy armor unless planning for that in the long haul. This may mean fighting naked and unarmed for a few fighting, but these fights are easily won. When in doubt, let either Hadvar or Ralof deal the damage and tank, they can’t be killed during this part of the game.
Step-By-Step
Bags often contain randomized loot. This guide will point to valuable and guaranteed treasures, but it’s always a good idea to search everything for something potentially worthwhile. This random chancegives the single-player experience MMO vibes.

When an optional mission comes up that says “Search the barrel for potions,” first take a look at the cupboards in the room. There are two potions and some valuable ingredients sitting on them.
After defeating foes in the Torture Chambers, players will automatically receive some lockpicks. Those who wish to level up lockpicking should unlock all three cells, even the empty ones, just for practice.
Even those trying to avoid lockpicking may want to open the middle cell. There is a potion, some coins, a Tome of Sparks, and a mage with spellcasting equipment and other goodies. Casters will want to wear this clothing immediately and learn the spell. Other builds will want this loot to sell it. Hopefully, this captive was one of thevillains in the franchise who wasn’t always evil.
Don’t leave before looting the sack on the table. The contents appear to be somewhat random, but it’s always got some good loot.
In the next hallway, there are some more locked rooms to practice lockpicking on for those who want this to be a core skill. For the rest, there is one locked cell perhaps worth picking. The skeleton has various treasures on it and the bag of coins next to the body is a perk.
This hallway exits to another secondary torture room. Loot the bodies in the cages for gold and alchemical ingredients. They’re pricy, so even players who don’t plan to use alchemy will want to sell them.
After a big fight, players will enter a cave section. Before going straight ahead, find a hole in some bars to the left. Loot the skeleton and nearby valuables.
After killing a few spiders, look around the room to find many treasures. Two skeevers and a corpse hang from the ceiling, all of which can be looted. Every egg sac has a Spider Egg. Each spider has a vial of Frostbite Venom which can be sold or used on a weapon for some extra damage.
In this same spider room, turn toward the entrance and take the ramp on the right upward to find a few extra eggs.
The next area has a bear in it. Before going right and dealing with that, look at the scattered remains on the left and grab a Health Potion.
The cart in front of the bear may look like all wine, but notice a big bag of coins to take mingling with the bottles.
In front of the cart, there are scattered objects. Ordinarily, mead and ale are cheap and not worth picking up, but this special Black-Briar Mead is more expensive than usual. There is also an Iron Helmet next to it. Heavy armor users will want to use this.
