Bethesda Softworks has expanded the audience ofThe Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrimthrough multiple ports that have been released since the initial version of the game. Over the years,Skyrimfans have discovered hidden details, stumbled across elusive bugs, and created their own fun with the countless items featured in the classic RPG.
Reddit user TeleportingRoach recently posted a clip of theirSkyrimadventure, showing the player in the Soul Cairn of theDawnguardDLC. The video begins with TeleportingRoach observing theirSkyrimcharacter from the third-person perspective as they stand atop a large pile of Soul Gems and Soul Gem fragments which are found all over the open world ofSkyrim. Standing in the center of the mound, theSkyrimplayer immediately begins charging up powerful magic using a Destruction spell that requires a hefty amount of Magicka on the mass of Soul Gems.

Using theSkyrimBlizzard spell, TeleportingRoach’s character unleashes the charged attack on the mound ofSoul Gemsafter slamming their hand on the ground which causes some latency issues. Perhaps due to how many Soul Gems are being thrown through the air with TeleportingRoach’s Blizzard, the clip takes a moment to show the fruits of the player’s labor. After this pause, theSkyrimvideo shows the Soul Gems erupting from the ground before swirling in the air around TeleportingRoach like a whirlwind.
As TeleportingRoach’sSkyrimDestruction spelldies down, the flying Soul Gems are more noticeable after slowing down and falling back down to the ground. TeleportingRoach then goes around the circular area of the Soul Cairn to show all the individual Soul Gems and where they were thrown after being flung into the air from the big pile the video started with. TeleportingRoach has stated that they were surprised this Soul Gem Blizzard didn’t cause a PC crash when it paused after unleashing the spell, and anotherSkyrimfan suggested downloading a mod to enhance the particle effects of the Soul Gems if they wish to truly test their PC.
TeleportingRoach is known for creatingSkyrimcontent, and they recently made a similar video showing them create aBlizzard of Elder Scrollslike the one they stirred up with Soul Gems. TheSkyrimplayer has said that they’ll be taking a break from the game after this Soul Gem Blizzard, which suggests that it will be some time before their nextSkyrimclip is posted. While there were clearly dozens of Soul Gems thrown in the sky in this clip, it’s currently unclear how many Soul Gems and fragments were used to conjure the whirlwind.
