This new cyberpunk mod pits players against theBlade Runnerseries' beloved cyberpunk Los Angeles and its many dangers while they play as Trixie, an escaped prototype Nexus 8 replicant fighting for her freedom. The story for the mod is made to take place before the events of theanimated short filmBlade Runner: Black Out 2022.The story-driven mod includes many bells and whistles, such as voice acted characters, cinematic presentation and set pieces, and plans for VR support in the future.
On November 27, Syndroid uploaded the launch trailer for theSerious Sam Fusionmod. The trailer depicts all of the classic, iconic things that fans would expect to see in theBlade Runneruniverse, including heavy rain, gigantic neon signs, towering futuristic skyscrapers, and of course, spinners, the fictionaluniverse’s take on flying cars. While this impressive conversion mod is sure to scratch the itch of fans of the cyberpunk genre, it will also certainly hold over anyBlade Runnerfans, especiallysinceBlade Runner: Enhanced Editionwas recently delayed.
This is not Syndroid’s first time dabbling in modding, or evencyberpunk-themed moddingfor that matter. Back in June of 2014, Syndroid announced a mod forCrysis 2, appropriately titledCyberpunk Crysis. It is also worth noting thatBlade Runner: Cells Interlinked 2021is not the modder’s first total conversion mod forSerious Sam Fusionas well, as Syndroid released a mod titledSerious Duke 3Din July of 2018, meant to serve as a remake and reimagining ofDuke Nukem 3D.
Any expectant cyberpunk fans still desperately trying to avoidCyberpunk 2077 spoilers from a recent slew of leakscan downloadBlade Runner: Cells Interlinked 2021forSerious Sam Fusionright now. And while Syndroid assures players that they should not expectSerious Sam-like gameplay, it’s clear that fans of cyberpunk classics will feel right at home with this new mod.
