Star Warsfans have been treated well as of late, with the recent confirmation ofStar Wars Jedi: SurvivorandObi-Wan KenobiEpisode 6ending the series on a high note. More is indubitably on the way, making the future look really bright for the franchise.Star Wars Jedi: Survivormay be the next time fans see Cal Kestis in action, but as a recent rumor would have it, it may not be the last.
The Star Wars Jediseries will probably get a threequel eventually, but a new rumor suggests that Cal Kestis will also be getting his own live-action Disney+ Show at some point in the future. This makes sense given how much Disney wants to leverage its streaming service for popular brands likeMarvelandStar Wars, and given thatKestis is identical to Cameron Monaghan(his actor), it would be an easy transition too.

This rumor comes way of YouTuber and Star Wars insider Kristian Harloff, who says he’s heard that Cameron Monaghan has signed on to reprise the role ofCal Kestisin a Disney Plus Show. He also adds that no production dates have been revealed quite yet, but that it is happening according to someone he’s trusted before.
It should be noted that he wasn’t able to get further confirmation, so fans should take this rumor with a grain of salt. But with the popularity ofThe Mandalorian, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and other Disney Plus shows, it’s a logical extension from having Cameron play Cal in a game to having him appear in a live-action show. In fact, many believed thatCal Kestis was going to appear inObi-Wan Kenobi, and while this did not come to pass, it shows already how receptive fans are to a live-action Cal.
Given Harloff’s comments on production dates, it’s likely to be some time before this new show is confirmed. It’s also likely to come out sometime afterStar Wars Jedi: Survivor, which is reportedly releasing early next year. So, fans would be wise to back pocket this rumor just in case something happens between now and then or if this rumor proves to be false.
Either way, Cal Kestis’ future is looking bright for fans, if dark for himself.Star Wars Jedi: Survivorboasts darker themes thanJedi: Fallen Order, and it’ll be interesting to learn more about the game. The empire looks stronger than before, Cal looks more lost than before, and there are many questions aboutwho is in the bacta tank inStar Wars Jedi: Survivor.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivorreleases in 2023 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X.
