One of the many staples of Rockstar Games' open-world titles is that the worlds themselves are incredibly expansive andRed Dead Redemptionis no exception to this. Sporting some of the most detailed and vast open-world environments in Rockstar’s library of games,Red Dead Redemptionhas a lot for players to do and see within both installments. Now, a particular user has created a way to showcase what those two worlds maps look like combined.
When the firstRed Dead Redemptionreleased, it featured a wide variety of different locations for players to explore and delve into. Even though players can’t visit many otherRed Dead Redemption 1locations inRed Dead Redemption 2, one fan has depicted what the map ofRed Dead Redemption 2looks like with the addition of the locations fromRed Dead Redemption 1.

A Reddit user by the name of TokerSmurf combined the maps of bothRed Dead Redemptiongames and the result is quite interesting. TheRed Dead Redemption 1extends outward from the homestead ofJohn Marstonand goes Southwest. It makes one wonder what the locations from the originalRed Dead Redemptionwould look like with the updated graphics and polish of the second installment.
This map combination does lead to many potential scenarios. The overwhelming majority of locations fromRed Dead Redemption 1are not available for players to access, but, because those locations still technically exist outside ofRed Dead Redemption 2, it’s possible that locations could be reused in the future. Whether in a third installment, in amod forRed Dead Redemption 2, or potentially in a DLC campaign.
It will be interesting ifRockstar Gameschooses to revisit any of theseRed Dead Redemption 1locations in the future. In video game franchises likeThe Elder Scrolls, for instance, while each game takes place in a different overworld, they all share an underlying connection to one another andRed Dead Redemptionshares a similar commonality in that regard.
Considering how much attention Rockstar Games has placed onRed Dead Online, allowing players to roam the open world ofRed Dead Redemption 2with other players, while also providing additional content periodically, it’s possible that Rockstar could allow players to exploreRed Dead Redemption 1locations inRed Dead Online. Although, as of right now, there’s been no official news of Rockstar planning anything akin to that.
Red Dead Redemption 2is available now for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
