Even five years after its release, there’s always something new that experienced players can discover aboutRed Dead Redemption 2. While the detail that Rockstar put into the game was immediately obvious back in 2018, it’s only years later that the community has really discovered the true extent of it. It would be easy to assume that everything about the game has been found at this point, yet it never seems to end. Redditor ghost_toe posted the eerie video online, which shows their character on horseback in the Wild West. They stop as they see a figure atop a hill in the distance, and zoom in with their binoculars. The figure simply waves at the player before riding away, suggesting they’d been watching all along. There have been plenty ofweirdRed Dead Redemption 2videosreleased by the community over the years, but this latest clip by ghost_toe is surely one of the strangest.

Gamers in the thread had plenty of theories about the mysterious figure. Some claimed this was actuallyRed Dead Redemption 2’s antagonist Micah Bell, with others claiming to have seen him out and about on their travels across the American West. While not everyone in the thread had clues about their identity, others who had seen them before mentioned that the character was spotted following them for quite a while, so it doesn’t seem to be a coincidence. One thing seems to be consistent across all versions of the story - when the player spots this character, they always turn around and leave, which only opens up more questions about their intentions.

With no conclusive evidence regarding the eerie stranger, for now, this will just have to remain one of theRed Dead Redemptionseries' unsolved mysteries. Hopefully, when it finally releases,Red Dead Redemption 3has a similar amount of strange occurrences that keep people talking years after its release. Right now though, it seems that it could be several years until that title comes to fruition, so at the moment anything a sequel might contain will have to remain up for debate.

Red Dead Redemption 2is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
