AStar Warsgame developed by Quantic Dream seems like a marriage of the perfect property and studio. Leaker Tom Henderson follows up his claim, suggesting that Quantic Dream’sStar Warsgame may have an official reveal soon.
Previously, Henderson, a writer for Dualshockers, teased apossible Quantic DreamStar Warsgamethrough a cryptic tweet featuring a screenshot ofDetroit: Become Humancovered by intersecting lightsabers. Shortly after, Henderson added to the original leak, stating that the title had been in development at Quantic Dream for “around 18 months.” Quantic Dream is responsible for some of the industry’s most immersive, story-driven games likeHeavy RainandDetroit: Become Human, titles that prioritize dialogue and player choice. One can only imagine what type of story can be told if Quantic Dream got its hands onStar Wars.

In a new tweet, Henderson continues to detail his Quantic DreamStar Warsleak, now providing context for the parties involved. He starts by name-dropping Unit Image, stating, “Quantic Dream is preparing aStar Warsteaser with Unit Image,” followed by a link to its website. Unit Image is a well-established and highly respected animation studio out of Paris, France, who has helped create countless video game projects including the trailers forFar Cry 6,Death Stranding, andGod of War. Its involvement here would indicate that a breathtakingStar Warsreveal like theBeyond Good and Evil 2E3 2017 trailercould be on the way.
The final part of the tweet should not come as a surprise, it pertaining to Disney. Henderson writes, “The teaser is pending Disney’s approval,” which makes sense, as Disney has long been the intellectual owner of theStar Warsbrand. He doesn’t provide specifics about the teaser nor how long Disney has been looking at it, but based on the rumors of how long the game has been in development for, and the matter of Disney’s approval, it seems like fans could expect a reveal at any time. However, Disney in the past has saved itsStar Warsannouncements for events, as it did withGamescom andLEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, so perhaps more waiting is in order.
Video game output since Disney’s acquisition has been spotty, but going forward, there are almost too many titles to keep track of. There’s Ubisoft’s open worldStar Warsgame, theJedi: Fallen Ordersequel,Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, the multiplayer orientedStar Wars: Hunters, therecently announcedKnights of the Old Republic Remake, and now this Quantic Dream title potentially. The output ofStar Warsgames is increasing, as is the variety of them. Fingers crossed fans can find out about this title soon, for better or worse.
