Prince of Persia: The Sands of Timeis one of the most popular in the series, so it’s no wonder that fans of the franchise were very excited to hear that it was being remade. Although thePrince of Persiaremake was initially announced for PC, PS4, and Xbox One, a leak coming directly from Ubisoft has revealed that there is probably going to be a Switch version as well.
Ubisoft has been infamously leaking quite a bit of information as of late, withPrince of Persia: Sands of Timebeing one of many coming through lately. Especially when it comes to Switch versions, fans have learned a lot from simply prowling the Ubisoft store pages.

The leak was discovered by Reddit user NayamAmarshe, who shared the information with others on GamingLeaksAndRumors subreddit. They shared the link to the page that, at the time of writing, still hasn’t beenupdated or changed by Ubisoft, but also took a screenshot of it just in case it does get modified.
As viewers can clearly see, Switch is listed as the fourth and final option for platforms for players that want to pre-order the game. It’s worth noting that selecting Switch causes the price to change from the actual $39.99 price tag to a notice simply saying “Out of Stock,” but that doesn’t necessarily mean that a Switch version won’t release eventually. There’s been no word from Ubisoft on this leak confirming or denying its legitimacy, but leaks such as these have been fairly accurate in the past so fans have high hopes. There have also beenother retailers that listed a Switch version ofPrince of Persia: The Sands of Time,so it seems even more credible.
Despite theoverwhelming evidence ofPrince of Persia: The Sands of Timecoming to Switch, this still shouldn’t be taken as complete confirmation of a Switch version, as anything can change between now and when the game releases. It’s possible that this was just a technical error, causing the website to show a Switch version even though there is none available or planned. It could also be that the Switch version is in the works but won’t be releasing at the same time as the rest of the platforms, so really, it’s still anyone’s guess as to whether it will happen or not.
This would certainly be nice to see, though, as gaming on the Switch offers a much more convenient and portable experience than other platforms. It may not have the same raw power as the PS4, Xbox One, or next generation consoles, but its utility will likely keep it relevant for years to come. And that’s not even saying anything about therumored Switch Pro.
