It appears as though some retailers will begin ramping up their promotion forSony’s upcoming PlayStation 5 console. An image making the rounds online seems to suggest that at least one UK retailer is building a space specifically to demo the PS5, though that’s unconfirmed at the time of this writing.

The image was tweeted by Twitter user IronCoreGame, and it shows a pretty standard game console demo station. The area seems to be themed after thePlayStation 5, utilizing a white color scheme, but the possibility of it being a generic PlayStation demo station can’t be ruled out. Perhaps this demo kiosk is just being used to play PS4 demos or something along those lines, so fans should keep their expectations in check.

IfSonyis getting ready to feature the PS5 in retail stores, then some more concrete information about the console should be coming to light sooner rather than later. At the time of this writing, the PS5 release date and price both remain a mystery, and it’s unlikely that Sony will start demoing the console in retail stores without that information being made available to the public. Considering this, fans should take this image with a grain of salt.

Rumors have been swirling that Sony plans on opening upPS5 pre-orderssoon, though, so maybe this in-progress demo area is legitimate. Unfortunately, all PlayStation fans can do is speculate until Sony itself reveals more information, though with the ongoing coronavirus pandemic discouraging people from shopping at retail locations at all, it seems somewhat unlikely that this is the real deal.

If this turns out to be real, it will be interesting to see what games Sony uses to demo the PlayStation 5 console.Astro’s Playroomseems like a distinct possibility, especially since it’s a free game that comes with every PS5 console. Other potential PS5 launch titles, likeSpider-Man: Miles Morales, also seem like strong possibilities, especially if Sony is wanting to stress the console’s visual prowess to potential buyers.

Hopefully potentialPS5 ownersget more information soon on whether or not they will be able to go hands-on with the next-generation console before they buy.
