Now, in celebration of therelease ofPokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, The Pokemon Company has decided to give away the shiny versions of Zacian and Zamazenta to westernPokemon SwordandShieldplayers, but only through redeemable codes in Gamestop.
AvidPokemongame players would likely agree that finding shiny Pokemon is a big challenge. What more forlegendary Pokemon such as Zacian and Zamazenta, wherein players likely have only one chance to encounter and capture them. These shiny encounters are so rare that hardcore players often resort to saving and restarting their games so often, for the off-chance that the single encounter would gift them the appearance of a shiny Pokemon. With the developers generously offering codes to redeem the shiny legendaries instead, avidPokemon SwordandShieldshiny collectors are likely breathing a big sigh of relief.

According to aPokemonfansite, it has been confirmed thatPokemon SwordandShieldplayers will be able to redeem a shiny Zacian or Zamazenta through codes given by Gamestop. Each of the legendary Pokemon will have separate events, with shinyZacian forPokemon Shieldavailable from October 22 to July 09, 2025, while shiny Zamazenta will be ready for download onPokemon Swordfrom November 12 to 27, 2021. These events were originally announced only for South Korea and Japan video game retailers, but likely due to fan demand, The Pokemon Company extended the events to western shores through Gamestop.
Given that no official news about the giveaway has been shared by either The Pokemon Company or Gamestop, fans are left to speculate on what special moves or stats these shiny legendaries will offer once redeemable. This is quite unlike how the company revealed the recent news of the addition ofshiny Zarude and CelebiinPokemon SwordandShield, as a way to celebrate the release of the animated filmPokemon the Movie: Secrets of the Jungle.
With the event dates being only a few weeks away,Pokemon SwordandShieldfans do not have too long to wait until they can get their codes from Gamestop. Hopefully, The Pokemon Company will be able to share the giveaway mechanics and more information about the legendary Pokemon themselves with the community, before the actual redeem dates of shiny Zacian and Zamazenta.
