Mega Battle Raids are some of the toughest challenges inPokemon GO, but they also offer some of the most exciting item rewards. Players who want to stock up on Mega Energy in the mobile AR game only have a handful of options. For the most part, Mega Raids are the fastest and most efficient way to earn the limited resource. That means getting a solid roster together and heading out with a few friends for some challenging PvE battles.
When Pokemon GO players head into these Mega Raids, they need to be careful to prepare for each of the unique bosses so that they don’t end up wastingRevives, Potions, and Raid Passes. The best way to avoid those mistakes is by studying ahead and time and carefully optimizing an ideal counter roster. When it comes to squaring off against a powerful Fire- and Fighting-type like Mega Blaziken, trainers can stick to a fairly simple strategy of focusing on two primary weaknesses while avoiding a long list of resistances.

Players will want to put together a roster full of their best Psychic- and Flying-type move sets in order to really take hit Mega Blaziken where it hurts. Trainers should plan to assemble a solid counter roster and then head into the fight with three or four other players to take down the boss. It would be wise to use someTMs or Elite TMsto get the ideal move sets in place for this fight. It also wouldn’t hurt to burn through some Candy at this point to power these Pokemon up to a higher CP.
Mega Blaziken Weaknesses
As a Fire- and Fighting-type Pokemon,Mega Blaziken is weak to Flying-, Ground-, Psychic-, and Water-type moves.
Mega Blaziken Resistances (Avoid These!)
Mega Blaziken is resistant to Bug-, Dark-, Fire-. Grass-, Ice-, and Steel-types.
Kyogre - Waterfall/Surf
Metagross - Zen Headbutt/Psychic
As always, keep in mind that this list of counters represents the strongest possible options, but there are plenty of other Pokemon who could still get the job done. Trainers should search their Pokemon collection byusing the keywords “Psychic” or “Flying"and go with a roster that seems the strongest based on those options. Trainers should also remember that they won’t actually earn an encounter reward with a Mega Pokemon after completing this Battle Raid. Instead, they will earn an encounter with regular Blaziken and a handful of Mega Energy to use for a temporary Mega Evolution in the future.
