With the release ofPokemon Scarlet and Violet, fans got new stories and concepts. And one Gen 9 concept widely explored by fans is the Paradox Pokemon.
Pokemon Scarlet and Violetintroduced theconcept of Paradox Pokemon, which is a group of Pokemon from another time. Past Paradox Pokemon look like ancient relatives of contemporary Pokemon. The opposite happens with Paradox Pokemon from the future, looking like futuristic relatives of Pokemon already known to fans. Paradox Pokemon have different types and moves. The appearances of these Pokemon reflect not only their original counterparts but also their paradox type.

Reddit user HertzBurst has already shown their creativity by designing anadorable Paradox form for Clefable. Now, the user shows what it would look like ifPokemonhad a Paradox Wobbuffet. The fun design created gives the Gen 2 Pokemon the name Iron Jetpack, a Future Paradox Wobbuffet. In its original version, the most striking features of Wobbuffet’s appearance are the cyan-colored body and the scrunched eyes that give the Pokemon an amusing expression. Iron Jetpack has a metallic body in the same color, while the Pokemon’s arms turned into turbines. Its face is an electronic display that maintains Wobbuffet’s iconic facial expression.
According to HertzBurst, the design of the Iron Jetpack is, as the name implies, based on a jetpack. Because of this, the user turned the Paradox Pokemon into a Psychic/Flying-type, referencing its futuristic design and the inspiration in Wobbuffet. The Pokedex entry created by HertzBurst says that Iron Jetpack is similar to a jet propulsion device from the future featured in a paranormal magazine. HertzBurst’s post became a hit on thePokemonsubreddit, with thousands of upvotes and several compliments to the fan art dedicated toone of the funniest Pokemonbecause of its antics.
Like other Pokemon Paradox fan art shared previously, Iron Jetpack is a fun combination of references. The result is a Paradox Wobbuffet that may come from futuristic times but retains the same funny aura that Wobbuffet originally has. With the release of thePokemon Scarlet and VioletDLC and thepotential expansion of the Paradox Pokemon lore, chances are high that players will have even more inspiration for new and creative fan art.
