Summary
An extremely talentedPokemonfan artist is reimagining Gen 3 starter Treecko and its evolutions as humans. When it comes toPokemonfan art, starters are often used as inspiration likely due to their respective popularity. Imagining these creatures as gijinkas, humans with the ability to transform into Pokemon, is also a popular form of fan art that generally requires a lot of skill and creativity. As the results are often noteworthy, they usually seem to get a positive reaction from the community.
Treecko and its evolutionary line also get a bump in popularity thanks to Sceptile being one ofAsh’s strongest Pokemonin the anime. Additionally, Sceptile and the rest of the Gen 3 starter’s final evolutions received Mega Evolutions, making these beasts even more formidable. Not to mention, thePokemon Ruby and Sapphiregames (which Treecko debuted in) are often cited as favorites among the fandom. Still, while Treecko has now been around for decades, mostPokemonfans have yet to see the Grass-type starter look quite like this before.

Reddit user endifi created human versions of Treecko and its evolutionary line, Grovyle, Sceptile, and even Mega Sceptile. This is merely the beginning of endifi’s Hoenn region series, so more reimaginings of Gen 3 Pokemon are on their way. The artist recently completed their collection of Johto Pokemon in the same style and notablycreated human versions of Larvitar and its evolutionsalong with the generation’s Legendary creatures. They are excited to move on to Hoenn, however, as the region is cited as the artist’s favorite.
The Treecko series begins with a more childlike representation of the starter Pokemon. This is similar to the style the artist used toturn Celebi into a person. The human version of Grovyle, however, appears a bit more adolescent, and both versions of Sceptile are pictured as adults. With each evolution, the weapons change based on the design of the Pokemon. For example, one of Grovyle’s leaves on its arms is represented by a kunai. Similarly, Sceptile and Mega Sceptile’s tails are turned into epic blades.
Needless to say, endifi did right by one of theall-time best Grass-type starter Pokemon. After creating every Johto Pokemon as a gijinka, this artist has had some practice with transforming pocket monsters into humans, to say the least. Their last endeavor to turn every Gen 2 creature into a gijinka took approximately two years, so it is likely going to be quite some time before their entire Hoenn series is complete. With results like this, however, thePokemonfandom community at large is more than happy to see each piece as they are released.
