APokemonartist shares an interesting concept in which they’ve combined two turtle-like Pokemon, Squirtle and Turtwig. Both are very popular in the community due to their multiple appearances in games and the anime. Squirtle is a Water-type Pokemon that was introduced in the first generation of games which makes it one of the most recognizable Pokemon in the whole franchise.

Turtwig is a popular Grass-type, first introduced in Gen IV. It has a unique appearance with a tree-like structure on the back, and it’s known as one of the friendliest Pokemon in the franchise. Similar to Squirtle, Turtwig is also one of the three starter Pokemon in the Sinnoh region, available at the beginning ofPokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.

Reddit user bloodycheese69 has shared an interesting concept in which they combine Squirtle and Turtwig into one single Pokemon. The post was well-received in the community as the post reached over 3.3k upvotes on the main Pokemon subreddit. The new Pokemon is a combination of Turtwig’s model with Squirtle’s light-blue color theme. While most fans seem to be debating on its name, a lot of them seem to agree that it should be called Squirtwig, which is a combination of the two names. A lot of comments also claim that it should also bea Water-type Pokemondue to its new bluish color palette.

In the Pokemon anime, Squirtle has been a central character in multiple storylines.During Ash’s adventures in the Kanto region, Ashe catches Squirtle which was abandoned by its previous trainer. One of its main strengths is its high defense which is one of the main reasons why many players pick Squirtle as their starter inPokemon Red and Green.

Besides being tank-like, Squirtle also has a wide range of Water-type moves that can deal a lot of damage. It can evolve into Wartortle and later Blastoise. Similar to many other Water-type Pokemon, Squirtle is weak against Grass and Electro attacks and players should avoid using him when fighting against these types, which also includes Turtwig. This Grass-type starter can fully evolve intothe Grass/Ground-type Torterra.

All of his evolution lines have one common flaw, they don’t have great Speed or decent Special Attack. As a Grass-type, Turtwig is weak against Fire, Flying, Poison, Bug, and Ice attacks. However, this is compensated by his strong Defensive stats and dual typing in his evolution lines which make him amust-have for manyPokemon Diamond and Pearlplayers.
