Pokemon Brilliant DiamondandShining Pearlfollows the same blueprint as every other entry in the mainline RPG series. Trainers must battle and catch Pokemon to build a team strong enough to take on all of the Gym Leaders and some variation of the Elite Four.
TheBrilliant DiamondandShining PearlSwitch remakes don’t stray far from this successful formula, keeping the same roster of characters and core gameplay of the originals. This includes the correct route to take when tasked with finding Eterna City.

How to Get to Eterna City in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl
After finding andbeating Roark in the Oreburgh City Gym, trainers are given the objective to get to Eterna City. The path to the north is unfortunately unpassable, as a bicycle is needed to climb the steep incline.
Instead of looking for a bike to Eterna City, go west, back to Jubilife City, and then head north to Route 204. If players don’t have theOld Rod yet inPokemon Brilliant DiamondandShining Pearl, they can head west of Jubilife City to obtain it from a fisherman. While traveling north on Route 204, use the newly acquired Rock Smash ability to clear a path in the cave. Keep heading forward, until Floaroma Town is reached.
ensure to use the PokeCentre before going east, until the Valley Windworks are reached. ATeam Galacticmember will need to be defeated. The door will still be locked, but thetwo Team Galactic members standing in front of the northwestern entranceway back in Floaroma Town will now have moved. Head back and go through it to battle the next set of enemies to obtain the Valley Windworks key.
Complete the Valley Windworks area, and thenhead across the northern bridge, now that the two Galactic enemies have moved. Keep heading north up Route 205, battling trainers and picking up items on the way, until a house is reached up a set of stairs. Enter Eterna Forest, just past the house.
Cheryl will follow until the exit is reached, and trainers will have to participate in team battles with her. She will heal party members after every battle.Fight through Eterna Forest until the exit is reached.
After exiting Eterna Forest, Cheryl will depart, and players can head north to avoid the fishermen on the walkway, or they can battlewater-type Pokemon. Although, that turns out to be quite a few Magikarp.
After this, trainers will have finally located Eterna City, where they will eventuallybeat Gardenia inBrilliant DiamondandShining Pearl.
