In thePokemonanime, Ash Ketchum and his many traveling companions havecaught a variety of monstersover the years, ranging from strong Pokemon like Misty’s Gyarados to more rare ones like Ash’s shiny Noctowl. However, one thing that has been rather inconsistent over time in the many seasons of the anime is Legendary Pokemon.

While theextremely rare Legendary Pokemonmostly tend to appear in the anime’s annual movies, there have been some instances where Ash and co. have battled trainers with Legendary Pokemon, such as Tobias' Latios and Darkrai. This has raised questions as to whether there are one of each Legendary Pokemon in the anime universe, like “the” Darkrai seen inPokemon: The Rise of Darkrai, or just “a” Darkrai like the one trained by Tobias. But now, it seems thatPokemon Journeysis teasing the addition of an incredibly powerful Legendary Pokemon to Goh’s collection.

Suicune was trending on Twitter late last week as a new anime promo featuring thefan-favorite Aurora Pokemonwas revealed. The promo showed Ash and Goh getting involved in the usual hijinks, seemingly in the Johto region this time. But near the end of the trailer, Goh is shown throwing a Poke Ball towards Suicune, then holding the Poke Ball afterwards, implying Suicune’s capture.

While not much has been officially revealed about this new episode of the anime, it appears that Suicune is being hunted down by a group of Pokemon poachers who successfully capture the Legendary Pokemon in a net. The promo trailer is conveniently spliced up as to not give away every detail of the episode, but the shock on everyone’s faces implies that Goh successfully captured Suicune to save it from the Pokemon poachers. If Goh does successfully capture Suicune, this would mark the second Legendary Pokemon added to the trainer’s Pokedex, as Ash and Gohmanaged to capture Eternatus togetherin an earlier episode.

This has raised quite a few fan theories as to what exactly is going on with Suicune inPokemon Journeys.Since Ash has encountered Suicune many times before, and it appears that Goh catches Suicune rather effortlessly, many are questioning whether this is just “a” Suicune or if this is “the” Suicune. Another fan theory seems to be that Goh simply catches the Legendary to save it from the poachers, later releasing it after the poachers have been defeated.

ThePokemon Journeysanime has certainly come with quite a few surprises, such as giving Ash one of thestrongest Pokemon fromSwordandShield.Regardless, it will certainly be interesting to see how the anime plans to address Suicune’s capture when the new episode airs tomorrow.
