Two years ago, fans were given the first look at a PlayStation exclusive known asStray. Coming from France-based developer BlueTwelve Studio and publisher Annapurna Interactive, players inhabit the role of a titular stray cat, where they explore the neon-hued sights of a cyberpunk city, complete with humanoid robots. This simple premise, alongside its gorgeous visuals and puzzle gameplay were a huge selling point for many. While it was initially expected to launch in October last year,Strayhad to be pushed backinto 2022.Publisher Annapurna Interactive assured fans thatStrayis on-track for a 2022 release, though not much information has been given about the title in recent months other than that. The most recent look that fans were given about the game was last year, with an extensive five-minute gameplay walkthrough video. It shows the player controlling the stray cat to navigate a variety of dangerous terrain and solve puzzles. It also showed the player encountering a small drone known as B-12, which can help them interact with the robots in the city. This includesWe Are OFK,Cult of the Lamb, andStray, with brief showcases of its gameplay too.Strayis the first of these games shown, which has some text near the bottom that confirm that the game has been pushed back to Summer 2022.

Some ofStray’s gameplaywas briefly showcased in this teaser trailer, which show the cat scaling the side of one of the city’s buildings. It then shows them batting a floating toy with its paw, backing away quickly after hitting it. The stray is also seen dropping said toy down a slide, which is going directly in the path of a spinning fan, catching it within its blades and stopping it.

Along withStraybeing pushed to Summer,We Are OFKreceiveda similar summer release window. Meanwhile,Cult of the Lambby developer Massive Monster will be launching not during the Summer, but Fall instead. Despite the delays these games have faced in the past year, fans expressed their excitement that they finally have a release window, especially the highly anticipatedStray.

Straywill be launching in Summer 2022 for PC, PS4, and PS5.
