Unlocking Decor Pikmin is one of the primary objectives ofPikmin Bloom. These Pikmin are among themost effective on Expeditions and Challenges, as their power exceeds regular Pikmin even at base friendship level. Decor Pikmin also add to the collecting dynamic present in other Niantic titles, likePokemon GO.
Attack Power
Even at their lowest friendship level, Decor Pikmin will often exceed the attack power of other Pikmin within their same type, even at higher friendship levels. With higher attack power individually, Decor Pikmin can be just what a squad needs to get a higher star rating and obtain more fruits, leading to more nectar to feed Pikmin and create more flowers.

Types of Decor Pikmin
The types ofDecor Pikmin are ever-expandingalongside special events withinPikmin Bloom. As of March 2022, there are 22 categories of Decor Pikmin, with multiple subcategories. Each category of Pikmin is also represented by the seven types of Pikmin (Red, Yellow, Blue, White, Purple, Gray/Rock, Pink), with the only exception being Special Decor Pikmin.
Special Decor Pikmin, in particular, are those from special events inPikmin Bloom. This includes the Mario Hat Pikmin (a Blue type Pikmin) andLunar New Year Ornament Pikmin(Red, Yellow, and Blue types).
Unlocking Decor Pikmin
Decor Pikmin can be unlocked in one of two ways. The first way is the same as how any other Pikmin are obtained. While walking, players will encounter Fruits, Big Flowers, and Seedlings. These items can also bediscovered using the Detector.
Planting Seedlings and reaching their required step threshold will allow for Pikmin to be plucked. Decor Pikmin may likewise be found and grown from Huge Seedlings, which are encountered less commonly than ordinary Seedlings.
The second method takes the longest but allows for all regular Seedlings and their respectively grown Pikmin to become Decor Pikmin. This is by maximizing friendship to four hearts.As Pikmin are sent on Expeditionsand Challenges, their friendship level will increase. To a lesser extent, they will also increase when fed Nectar.
The easiest way to maximize friendship is to make use of Expeditions and Challenges until Pikmin are near completing their fourth heart, and then feeding Nectar to finish raising their friendship level. The exception to this is Special Nectar, which may be purchased or rewarded after leveling up, and increases friendship level by an entire heart.
Max Friendship with Decor Pikmin
Unlike regular Pikmin who become Decor Pikmin after maximizing their friendship level and receiving a gift Expedition, providing their Decor item, Decor Pikmin from Huge Seedlings do not receive a gift Expedition. Instead, their hearts simply reach the maximum of four and show no other indication.
Players may be best served by removing these Pikmin from their squad at that point, and replacing them with Pikmin who have yet to reach four hearts and will continue to benefit from being fed Nectar.
