Players ofPersona 3will quickly find themselves exploring Tartarus, the tremendously tall tower that serves as the main dungeon of the game. The tower is split into several sections called blocks, with each block consisting of a number of floors and featuring different threats.

This guide forPersona 3will focus on the number of floors found in each Tartarus block and discuss some of the features of each block in general.

Thebel Block (15 floors)

Thebel is the first block of Tartarus, consisting of floors 2-16. Rare Treasure Chests on this floor can supply players with a number of useful early items, including the Juzumaru sword and the Rugged Geta and Shirt of Chivalry armor. There are three guardians to defeat in order to advance through Thebel, located on floors 5, 10, and 14.

The first guardian is the Venus Eagle. This level 5 Empress shadow is immune to wind, light, and dark attacks and absorbs fire. Its only weakness is piercing damage, so Yukari will be very helpful here. It has 150 HP, 100 SP and uses Garu and Magaru alongside a slash attack.

The second guardian is the Dancing Hand. This level 7 Magician shadow is immune to light and dark attacks, resists fire, ice, lightning, and wind, and is weak to strike damage. It has 220 HP, 120 SP, and uses Agi, Bufu, Zio, Magaru, Tentarafu, and Dia, in addition to a Strike attribute normal attack.

The third guardian is the Rampage Drive, a level 8 Chariot shadow that is immune to Slash, Pierce, Light, and Dark, reflects Strike damage, and resists fire. This means players will have to resort to pummeling the shadow with any elemental other than fire to deal damage to it. It has 450 HP, 450 SP, and uses Assault Dive, Mazio, and Tarukaja.

Arqa Block (48 Floors)

Arqa, the second Block of Tartarus, consists of 48 Floors, beginning at floor 17 and ending on floor 64. Rare treasure chests in Arqa floors 17-39 can provide the Night Falcon sword and the Nikkari Aoe Sword. Similar chests on floors 41-63 can yield the Sigma Drive accessory, Bladefist, and the Bow of Affection. The Warrior’s Seal and High-Cut armor can be found in rare chests throughout Arqa.

To clear Arqa, players will need to defeat four guardians located on floors 25, 36, 47, and 59.

The first guardian is the Crying Table, a level 14 Magician shadow that is immune to strike, light, and dark, and absorbs fire. It resists slash and pierce but is vulnerable to ice, so hitting it with ice to land all-out attacks is the way to go. It has 250 HP and, along with a basic strike attack, it can also use Agilao, Maragi, Poisma, Mighty Swing, and Torrent Shot. Try not to bring anyone who is weak to fire into this fight.

The second guardian is the Change Relic, a level 17 Empress shadow that is immune to wind, light, and dark. It has 850 HP and uses Garula, Magarula, Rakukaja, Poison Mist, and Dia.

The third guardian is the Golden Beetle, a level 19 Emperor shadow that is immune to ice, light, and dark, resists strike, slash, and pierce, and is vulnerable to electricity. It has 240 HP and uses Tarukaja, Kill Rush, Masukunda, Torrent Shot, and Sukukaja, along with a basic Pierce attack.

The fourth guardian is the Intrepid Knight, a level 26 Emperor shadow that is immune to light and dark, and absorbs wind. It also resists slash, strike, and pierce, and has no weakness. Hammer it with strong spells from any element except wind, and it’ll go down.

Yabbashah Block (50 Floors)

Yabbashah is the third Block of Tartarus, spanning floors 65-114 for 50 floors total.

Rare treasure chests on floors 65-88 can yield several useful pieces of equipment, such as the Onimaru Kunitsuna (Two-Handed Sword), the Pleiades Bow, the Beast Leggings (Shoes), the Land Badge and Sigma Drive Accessories, and the Tigerhide Belt (Armor).

Rare Chests on Floors 90-113 can yield the Six-Shot gun, Aroundight sword, Warriors Boots, Hero’s Knickers Armor, Mage’s Mark Accessory, the Sukemitsu Naginata, and the Ga Boo Sword.

There are four guardians to defeat throughout Yabbashah, found on floors 72, 85, 98, and 110.

The first guardian is the Furious Gigas, a level 29 Strength shadow that blocks fire, light, and dark, reflects strike, and resists electricity. It is weak to wind and has 500 HP, so personas with wind attacks will perform well here. Furious Gigas has a Strike attack, along with Fatal End, Gigantic Fist, Power Charge, High Counter, Rebellion, and Sukukaja.

The second guardian is the Fanatic Tower, a level 34 Hierophant Shadow that blocks light and dark, reflects fire, electricity, and ice, and resists slash and pierce. With 2000 HP it’ll take a fair amount of time to whittle down its health. It has a basic Pierce attack along with Zionga, Mazionga, Mind Charge, Poison Mist, Elec Break, Poison Boost, and Dodge Strike.

The third Guardian, Magical Magus, is a level 38 Magician shadow that blocks light and dark, absorbs ice, and resists slash, pierce, and strike. It has a weakness to fire that should be taken advantage of as much as possible, and 700 HP. It uses a basic Strike attack, Bufudyne, Mabufula, Mind Charge, Ice Break, and Makarakarn.

The final Guardian in Yabbashah is the Natural Dancer, a level 40 Lovers shadow. It blocks wind, light, and dark, and resists fire and electricity. It has 1700 HP and uses a basic Pierce Attack, Garudyne, Magarudyne, Hamaon, Sexy Dance, and Tetrakarn. Bringing a Persona that is vulnerable to light is an excellent way to lose this fight quickly.

Tziah Block (50 Floors)

Spanning floors 115-164 is Tziah Block.With 50 floors to climb players have a lot of ground to cover.

On floors 115-138, players can acquire the Night Stalker Bludgeon, Karasu-maru Knife, Mikazuki Munechika sword, Blood Baghnakh fists, Rhongowennan spear, Rangda Robe, Metal Dog Suit, Land Badge accessory, and Mage’s Mark accessory from rare chests.

On floors 140-163, rare chests can yield Outenta Mitsuyo, Karasu-maru, Blood Baghnakh fists, and the Quick Pumps accessory.

Once again, there are four guardians to face, found on floors 122, 135, 146, and 160.

The first is the Arcane Turret, a level 41 Chariot Shadow that blocks fire, electricity, light, and dark while resisting slash, pierce, and strike. It has a weakness to Ice for Mitsuru and Personas with ice skills to exploit and 1000 HP to get through. It has a basic Strike Attack, Agidyne, Ziodyne, Mind Charge, Marakunda, and Eerie Sound as its skills. Blocking after a Mind Charge is a sound strategy for mitigating its damage.

The second Guardian, Sleeping Table, is a level 50 Magician shadow that resists slash, pierce, and fire, and blocks strike, light, and dark. It has 1700 HP and uses a basic Strike Attack, Maragidyne, Hamaon, Megidola, Evil Touch, Ghastly Wail, and Fear Boost. Players should stay on top of the Fear status effects it inflicts, lest it one-shot multiple party members with Ghastly Wail.

The Hell Knight is the third guardian, a level 48 Emperor shadow that blocks light and dark, absorbs electricity, and resists fire, ice, and wind. It has 1200 HP and uses a basic Pierce Attack along with Ziodyne, Maziodyne, Mudo, Heat Wave, Torrent Shot, Poison Mist, Rakukaja, Tetrakarn, Elec Break, and Mind Charge.

The final Guardian of Tziah is Mythical Gygas, a level 48 Strength shadow that blocks pierce, light, and dark, absorbs fire, reflects strike, and resists slash. With 2100 HP, it uses Strike Attack, Vile Assault, Deathbound, Maragidyne, Power Charge, Marakunda, and High Counter.

Harabah Block (50 Floors)

The Harabah Block stretches from floors 165-214, divided into two sections, much like the previous floors.

On Floors 165-189, the rare chests can yield the Sol Blade, Executioner’s Axe, Pugilist’s Fists, Battle Leotard, Shadow Sensor Accessory, Indigo Cape Accessory, Rose Flamberge, and Quinlong Yanyue naginata.

On Floors 191-213, rare chests can yield Charun’s Hammer, the Ote-gine spear, the Stealth Shirt, the Spiked Bra, and the Sexy Heels.

This block has five Guardians to defeat, found on floors 171, 180, 190, 201, and 211.

The first guardian is the Judgement Sword, a level 54 Justice shadow that blocks light and dark, absorbs electricity, and resists slash, pierce, strike, and fire. It has 1300 HP and uses Slash Attack, Tempest Slash, Ziodyne, maziodyne, Matarukaja, and Marakunda.

The second guardian is the Stasis Giant, a level 58 Justice shadow that blocks slash, light, and dark, and resists strike, pierce, fire, and wind. It has 1400 HP and uses Slash Attack, Double Fangs, Fatal End, Mighty Swing, Zan-ei, Blade of Fury, Tempest Slash, Deathbound, Gigantic Fist, Power Charge, Diarama, Posumudi, Me Patra, and Sharp Student.

The third guardian is the Phantom King, a level 57 Hermit shadow that blocks dark and reflects light. It has 2500 HP and uses Slash Attack, Hamaon, Mahamaon, Mind Charge, Megido, Evil Touch, and Evil Smile.

The fourth guardian in Harabah is the Royal Dancer, a level 61 Lovers shadow that blocks light and dark. It has 1500 HP and uses Pierce Attack, Heat Wave, Primal Force, Poisma, Poison Mist, Pulinpa, Tentarafoo, Marin Karin, Sexy Dance, Patra, Charmdi, Posumudi, and Dia.

The final guardian, Reckoning Dice, is a level 62 Fortune shadow that blocks fire, ice, lightning, wind, and dark, and reflects light. It has 2900 HP and uses Megidola, Megidolaon, Tetrakarn, Provoke, and Rage Boost.

Adamah Block (49 Floors)

Covering floors 215-263,Adamah is the final mandatory block of Tartaruswhen aiming for the true ending of the game.

Floors 215-235 offer the Apocalypse sword, Poison Glaive spear, Brighid’s Flame gun, Dragon Fangs fists, Goddess Boots, and Powered Suit as rewards from rare chests.

Floors 236-261 offer the Nihon-gou spear, Staff of Wrath, Golden Gloves, Lunar Dog Suit, Earth Badge accessory, War God’s Seal accessory, and Sorcerer’s Mark accessory.

This floor features seven Guardians, two of whom could be considered story spoilers, so proceed with caution. They are found on floors 220, 228, 236, 244, 252, 258, and 262.

The first guardian, the Noble Seeker, is a level 63 Hermit shadow that blocks light and dark while resisting fire, ice, lightning, and wind. It has 1900 HP and uses Strike Attack, Vorpal Blade, Agidyne, Bufudyne, Ziodyne, Garudyne, Maragidyne, Mabufudyne, Maziodyne, Magarudyne, and Life Drain.

The second guardian is the Carnal Snake, a level 67 Lovers shadow that blocks light and dark while resisting Fire, Lightning, and Wind. It has 2200 HP and uses Pierce Attack, Agidyne, Maragidyne, Mudoon, Mamudo, Life Drain, Spirit Drain, Tarukaja, Rakukaja, Tetrakarn, Fire Break, Dekaja, and Dekunda.

The third guardian is the World Balance, a level 72 Justice shadow that blocks light and dark while resisting slash, strike, and pierce. It has 3100 HP and uses Pierce Attack, Agidyne, Maragidyne, Bufudyne, Mabufudyne, Ziodyne, Maziodyne, Garudyne, Magarudyne, Mahamaon, Mamudoon, Spirit Drain, Megidola, and Megidolaon.

Fierce Cyclops is the fourth guardian of Adamah, a level 71 Hanged Man shadow that blocks lightning, light, and dark, while resisting slash, strike, and fire. It has 1700 HP and uses Slash Attack, Primal Force, Vorpal Blade, Power Charge, Last Resort, and Mazionga.

The fifth guardian is the Jotun of Grief, a level 73 Hanged Man shadow that blocks light and dark while absorbing slash, strike, fire, ice, lightning, and wind. With 4000 HP it uses Strike Attack, Primal Force, Megidolaon, Matarunda, Marakunda, Masukunda, Stagnant Air, Infuriate, and Mind Charge.

The Sixth Guardian is Jin Shirato with his Persona Moros. a Level 74 Hermit Persona that blocks light while reflecting fire and dark. They have 5000 HP and use a tremendous assortment of attacks allowing them to strike any weakness while inflicting poison, charm, or enrage.

The Final Guardian is Takaya Sakaki with his Persona, Hypnos, a level 75 Fortune Persona that blocks dark and reflects light. They have 7000 HP and use Pierce Attack, Agidyne, Bufudyne, Ziodyne, Garudyne, Mahamaon, Mamudoon, Megidola, Megidolaon, and Mind Charge.

This optional Block of Tartarusis unlocked after completing request #53 and consists of 10 floors.

On Floors 2 and 9, players can find the Mary’s Resolve bow, Tonbo-kiri spear, and Hallowed Plate Armor.

On Floors 3 and 8, players can find the Myohou Muramasa sword, Antimatter Cannon gun, and Eternal Shoes.

Floors 4 and 7 offer the Double Ziggurat gloves, Golden Crusher, and Eternal Plate armor.

Floors 5 and 6 offer Excalibur, the Grand Slasher knife, and the Hallowed Boots.

This block has no Guardians but has some very powerful shadows as regular enemies, with all of them being level 88 or higher.
