Activision Blizzard recently delayed the sequel toOverwatchindefinitely, making fans of the original game look for new ways to play the game, or entirely new games to play. OneOverwatchPC Grandmaster recently decided to give the game a whirl on console and they got absolutely demolished.
OverwatchGrandmaster and popular Twitch streamer Somjuu was recently streaming hisOverwatchPS4 gameplay from his PS5. Although Somjuu fits within the top 500Overwatchplayers in the world, this gameplay which was watched by several Twitch viewers at the time shows how someone who’s good on PC may not be good on console and vice versa. Because of his low level on console, Somjuu played matches in a standardOverwatchlobby in order to reach level 25 to unlock the ability to play rankedOverwatchon the PS4.

Perhaps a testament to the difference in controls on PC and PS4, Somjuu’s inability to keep up with his foes inOverwatchon console suggests hopping from one version of a game to another isn’t so simple. Somjuu recently streamed his first-ever gameplay as Genji on PS4 toTwitchas he acquired his ultimate while requesting a damage boost from a nearby Mercy. Hyping up the upcoming play, Somjuu stated it was “the first Somjuu Genji Blade on console” enthusiastically. During the gameplay, Somjuu’s damage was boosted to no avail as a combination of Hanzo, Moira, and Echo thwarted his plans for a multi-kill with Genji’s Dragonblade.
In another clip spotted by Dexerto, Somjuu was livestreaming his PS4 gameplay as Cole Cassidy and the Twitch streamer referred to the Cowboy as his former name which waschanged by Activision Blizzard. “I might be a McCree main, I’m actually insane,” stated Somjuu as he successfully unloaded a few rounds into an enemy Soldier 76 before falling to his death off one of the sides of the Oasis map.
Playing as Doomfist onOverwatch’s Watchpoint Gibraltar map, Somjuu struggled to keep up with an enemy Soldier 76 who was running circles around him. Somjuu’s teammate was a Lucio who perfectly timed a Sound Barrier during his fight with Soldier 76 as a Mercy joined the fight to help Soldier 76. This strategy didn’t pay off, however, as Somjuu was once again held off as Soldier 76’s team ofOverwatchheroesapproached the duo alongside the payload.
Because Somjuu is new toOverwatchon console, it’s easy to see why there would be growing pains adjusting to the new controls. His Grandmaster rank among the PCOverwatchcommunity shows that he’s clearly skilled at the game, though Twitch viewers who are watching his PS4 gameplay may get a different impression. There are several more ways to playOverwatchbeyond PC and PS4 and Somjuu may broaden his horizons further before therelease ofOverwatch 2.
Overwatchis available right now for PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
