The main characters are largely composed of the Hoshino twins and the people who are the closest to them, whether it be fellow actors like Kana and Akane, or members of B-Komachi like Mem-cho. The Vengeful Son
Aqua Hoshino was once Goro Amamiya, an unapologetic fan of the idol Ai Hoshino. By chance, he ended up helping that idol give birth,though he was killed and reincarnatedas her child Aqua. As Aqua, he lived a happy life as Ai’s son, until a stalker stabbed her to death. Swearing revenge, an older Aqua now navigates the entertainment world to find his father, the one who killed Ai.
Aqua Hoshino is16 years oldas of theTokyo Bladearc, and he standsrelatively tall at 5'8 (172 cm). His stature and youth give him a few advantages inhis main job as an actor, though he has experience working as a video editor as well. Despite his deep involvement in the industry, his only desire is to uncover the man who killed Ai and take his revenge.
2Ruby Hoshino
The Inheritor Of Her Mother’s Dreams
As a terminally sick child, Sarina Tendojiwas never given a chance to truly live. A huge fan of Ai Hoshino, she dreamed of being an idol herself, but died before she could achieve it. Fate gave her a second chance by reincarnating her as the child of her beloved idol, even though her death later on would scar her as much as it did Aqua.
Like Aqua, Ruby is16 years old, though she stands much shorter than him at5'2 (158 cm). Her mother’s death inspired herto become an idol, despite the challenges and obstacles she may face. Though she has yet to become truly popular, she has made great strides with her group, B-Komachi.
3Kana Arima
The Former Child Prodigy
Kana Arima was one of the few people that Aqua Hoshino met during his short stint in the acting world as a child.A child prodigy known for being an incredible actress, her arrogance and petulance cost her both her connections and her popularity. Despite this, she continues to pursue a career in acting, which causes her path to cross with Aqua’s again.
Kana is a little older than Aqua and Ruby, being17 years old. At4'11 (150 cm), she is one of the shortest characters in the series. That doesn’t stop her from beingboth a talented actress and an idol, despite her lack of self-confidence borne as a result of her fall as a child actress.
4Akane Kurokawa
A Shrinking Violet Hiding A Passionate Talent
Akane Kurokawa first appeared as one of the participants in the LoveNow dating show, where she came off as a rather shy and unassuming girl. In truth, she is a talented theater actresswith an incredible ability to dive deep into a character’s personalityin order to adopt their persona. Her love of theater is deep, and one of the few things that can break her out of her quiet shell.
Akane is17 years old, making her a little older than Aqua. She is a little taller than Ruby, standing at5'4 (163 cm), though she is still quite shorter than Aqua.Her main career is theater acting, a passion she pursues diligently, with no detail spared.
5Mem-cho
The Hyper-popular YouTuber-turned-Idol
An internet celebrity operating under an assumed name, Mem-cho is one of six people participating in the LoveNow dating show, where she meets Akane and Aqua. A popular YouTuber posing as a high school girl, in truthMem-cho is 25 years old, having had to give up on her dreams of becoming an idol to support her family in times of need. Despite having given up long ago, Aqua offers her the chance to pursue that goal once again, which she takes with glee.
As the third and final member of B-Komachi, Mem-cho is only a little shorter than Ruby,standing at 5'1 (155 cm). Mem-cho’s statusas a YouTuberhas helped the fledgling idol group market themselves, and she herself has brought a lot of attention to the group as a whole.
6Miyako Saito
The Surrogate Mother And Diligent President
Once the shallow wife of Strawberry Productions' President, Ichigo Saito, Miyako was saddled with the care of the twins while Ai was busy with idol work. Despite herself, she became attached to the kids,becoming their adoptive mother once Ai died. She alsobecame the new president of Strawberry Productionsonce her husband disappeared.
Miyako’s age is never specified, but she is probably inher late thirties to early forties. She stands tall at5'6 (167 cm), though that leaves her a little shorter than her adopted son Aqua. Despite not being as vital to the plot as other characters, Miyako is a huge supportive influence in the twins' lives.
7Ai Hoshino
The Most Popular Idol Of Her Generation
Though she died in Episode 1, Ai Hoshino is possibly the most important character inOshi no Ko. A member of B-Komachi,Ai brought the group to new heights, and despite giving birth to twin children in her teens, she did her best to juggle both her career as an idol and her role as a mother.
Standing4'11 (151 cm)tall, Ai was 16 when she gave birth to Aqua and Ruby, andshe was only 20when she was tragically killed. While her main careerwas that of an idol, she did plenty of other work in the entertainment industry, such as acting and modeling.
