Kaido still from One Piece anime

From the name of the episode, it was evident that the focus would be on the duel taking place on the rooftop between Luffy and Kaido. However, there was still enough screen time for the other characters.

In Episode 1069, two major fights were wrapped up. The first one was Raizo vs. Fukurokuju; the two ninjas had been fighting while surrounded by flames for a long time. They seemed to have reached an impasse, after which it became a test of their mental fortitude. Thankfully, Fukurokuju was the first to break, which meant Raizo was the winner, and with his victory, Orochi’s Oniwabanshu was no more. It wasn’t an easy accomplishment for Raizo, and he collapsed not long afterward. The second fight saw Guernica take down X-Drake, who stabbedthe World Government agentin the back. However, Guernica was largely unaffected and used Finger Pistol to put the Supernova to sleep. Meanwhile, on the rooftop, Luffy was using Snakeman to land multiple hits on Kaido. The Emperor was quite confused by Luffy’s attacks, as he couldn’t quite figure out the pattern. However, things changed when he used his Future Sight, and it allowed him to move through the flurry of punches easily.

Luffy defeated by Kaido One Piece Episode 1070

This forced Luffy to change his approach, and he entered the Bounce Man form, which offered more power. Luffy and Kaido were going back and forth. Both of them knew that it was time to end their fight, so they got ready to unleash their final attacks. Moments before they were about to make contact, Guernica appeared out of nowhere and distracted Luffy, allowing Kaido to land a critical hit. This remindedthe Emperor of his fightwith Oden, where he had won unfairly after the samurai had been distracted.

Release Date

One Piece Episode 1070 will be released on July 30th, 2023. The anime is on break for a week, and it will return on July 30th. The episode is titled “Luffy is Defeated?! The Determination of Those Left Behind.” With Luffy seemingly bested, Kaido is likely going to targetGuernica, the CP0 agentwho robbed him of a proper fight. The assassin is aware that Kaido is not going to spare him, and in the preview, he could be seen bracing himself for an attack.

Once Kaido beats Guernica to a pulp, he will come down from the rooftop and start attacking the rest of the alliance members. There is not a single soul who can stand up to the might of Kaido, and they will be indubitably worried about their survival. Kaido is known for being ruthless, and he will not let a single member of the alliance leave Onigashima alive, especially after what they did to his castle.

It will be interesting to see what happens to Luffy after his loss. He looks utterly beaten and doesn’t appear to be in any condition to get up and fight. However, Luffy has a history of defying the odds, and he has handled many similar situations in the past. Oda also has a habit of surprising his audience, so there is a chance that Luffy will get a new power that will enable him to achieve his goal.
