One of the newest Persona users introduced in the beta ofPersona 5: The Phantom Xis quickly becoming very popular within the fanbase. This character goes by the code name of Okyann, and is one of the characters players can pull in thePersona 5mobile spin-off. The first beta had introduced fans toa bunch of new Persona users inPersona 5: The Phantom X, with many of them having individual designs and code names. It’s apparent that these new characters are summonable by fusion, though they are also characters available to socialize with outside the Metaverse.

Persona 5: The Phantom X’s second beta has started recently, with players able to meet even more new characters. This includesnew party members forPhantom Xlike Soy and Leo, who are designed after certain motifs like the former being a cowboy and the latter being a reference toKamen RiderandSuper Sentai. According to a translated biography from Pan-Hime on Twitter, Okyann’s real name is Kayo Tohyama. She is a 44-year-old woman, and is the next door neighbor ofPersona 5: The Phantom X’s protagonist. She was formerly a fashionista, but is now currently a homemaker with a happy family, though there is some sort of emptiness in her heart. Like the other characters introduced so far, she uses a Persona II named Cleodora. The gap between her real-world and metaverse designs were all that fans needed to instantly take a shine to her.

Her Phantom Thief attire is similarly beloved, with some noting that it takescues from Gyaru culture. This includes her having a unique fashion style, tan skin, blonde hair, and even a flip phone. Gameplay of Okyann in the metaverse showed that her style hasn’t slowed down either, where she can grant buffs and heal the player’s party, as she is the team’s navigator.

Fans noted that Okyann is what the series should have more often. A female adult Persona user hasn’t been seen sinceMayo Amano and Ulala Serizawa from thePersona 2games. While the series would get more heroic adult Persona users, they’ve mostly been men like Zenkichi Hasegawa fromStrikers. Kayo Tohyama currently holds the distinction of being the oldest Persona-user at 44, and many fans are hoping that she could be included in the mainline games.

Persona 5: The Phantom Xis currently in development for PC and Mobile devices.
