DespiteNew Horizons' roster of over four-hundred villagers, some beloved characters from pastAnimal Crossingtitles have yet to make a reappearance. The game was later released for the GameCube asDobutsu no Mori+and translated for international audiences through its English title,Animal Crossing. Woolio Could Add Variety to the Sheep Roster of Animal Crossing: New Horizons' Successor
Woolio is anAnimal Crossingsheep villagerknown for his rocker appearance; his most distinguishable features come in the form of a green star on his face accentuated by a pair of black sunglasses that plays off his cool appeal. His bright purple wool and polka dot shirt add to the colorfulness of his character, helping to cement the villager as a visual standout. With a jock personality befitting of his high energy, Woolio feels like he would be right at home among the sheep ofNew Horizons’successor, adding some variety to its roster.
Of the fourteen sheep villagers inAnimal Crossing: New Horizons, the overwhelming majority are female. The three male sheep featured in the game, Curlos, Pietro, and Dom, skew towards the ‘smug’ personality type, with Dom left as the only jock among the group. Though Dom and Woolio share the same personality and animal type, their visual designs differ quite a bit from one another; Dom’s pink color scheme and rainbow clothing could make Woolio a perfect contrast with his rocker get-up, giving the villager a reason to return despite the overlap. Additionally, his design could make him a perfect friend for other villagers like the koala Eugene, whose musical hobby and clothing style falls in line with the rocker archetype.
Given Woolio’s penchant for rock ‘n roll, the character would work quite well in a music-inspired landscape, making items like the mic stand, amp, and jukebox all the more relevant for decoration. Naturally, Woolio’s favoriteK.K. Slider song inAnimal Crossingis ‘K.K. Rock,’ which could give the villager adorable opportunities to sing along across players’ decorated environments. Though his home decor in the series' first entry was a bit bare given the game’s constraints on items and other customization, a potential reappearance inNew Horizons' successor could be conducive to all types of fun decor ideas for the villager. An animated wallpaper similar toACNH’s ‘Pro Wrestling Match Wall’ could be introduced to look like a crowd at a rock concert, working as the perfect backdrop for Woolio photo opportunities.
Given the vast range of clothing options thatNew Horizons' successor will undoubtedly feature, players would have tons of rocker-type clothing items to gift Woolio, including leather jackets, bright logo tees, and polka dot garments that tie into the villager’s eclectic design. Players could even match with the rock star by using the successor’s equivalent toNew Horizons' custom design feature, painting a green star on their faces to mimic his make-up. The character leaves many possibilities that tie into the design staples of the series, making his potential reappearance a compelling one. With a stand-out visual design and fun rock star influence, Woolio could really amp up the nextAnimal Crossingentry with his presence, making him a fan favorite in the series.
